오키나와 맛집 [A&W All American Food]
셋째날 저녁은, 'A&W'라는 패스트푸드점에서 먹었어요. 여기는 차타고 지나다니며 봤는데, 'All American Food' 라고 적혀 있어서 맛이 어떨지 궁금하더라고요.
On the third day in Okinawa, I had dinner at a fast-food restaurant called 'A&W.'

숙소에서 가까운 매장이 있어서, 저녁에 슬슬 걸어나왔습니다 :)
As there was a branch close to our hotel, I took a short walk to get there.
A&W는 설립자의 이름을 따서 만들어진 거더라고요. 1919년 미국 캘리포니아주에서 처음 오픈하고, 오키나와에는 1963년에 첫 매장이 생겼다고 하네요.
A&W was named after its founder, Allen and Wright. It first opened in California, USA in 1919, and the first branch in Okinawa appeared in 1963.
매장 한 켠에는 다양한 굿즈도 판매중이에요.

루트 비어가 유명하다길래, A&W 콤보 세트를 주문해보았어요. 루트 비어는 어릴 때 미국에서 마셨던 기억이 어렴풋이 나는데, 맛은 전혀 기억이 안나서 기대가 되더라고요.
I ordered the A&W combo set with Root Beer. I vaguely remember having Root Beer when I was young and lived in the United States, but I can't recall its taste at all...
주문 후 기계에 결제를 직접해야했어요. 현금을 넣으면 잔돈이 알아서 나오는 신기한 기계에요.
After placing the order, I had to make the payment using the machine. It was a fascinating machine where if you inserted cash, the change would automatically be dispensed.

루트 비어는 14가지 허브로 만든 무알콜 탄산음료에요. 1919년 미국의 금주법을 배경으로 탄생했다고 하네요. 생긴 건 콜라랑 비슷한데, 향이 좀 강하긴합니다ㅎㅎ 후기 보니 어떤 분은 물파스맛 같다고 표현하더라고요. 저는 감초향이 강하게 느껴졌어요.
A&W Root Beer is a non-alcoholic carbonate beverage made with a blend of 14 different herbs. It is originated during the Prohibition era in the United States in 1919. While it looks similar to coke, its aroma is a bit stronger. According to some reviews, some people describe it as having a medicine. In my opinion, I could strongly sense the licorice flavor.
햄버거와 감자튀김은 직원분이 테이블에 올려진 번호를 보고 가져다주셨어요.
The hamburger and french fries were brought by the staff, who checked the number displayed on the table.
아드님의 베이컨 & 치즈 샌드위치.
This is my son's Bacon & Cheese Sandwich.
베이컨과 치즈, 마요네즈가 들어갔던 것 같은데 좀 퍽퍽했어요.
There was bacon, cheese, and mayonnaise in it, but it seemed a bit dry.
대표 메뉴인 A&W 버거. 미국 버거라 헤비할 줄 알았는데 생각보다 담백한 맛이었어요.
This is how the A&W Burger looks like. I thought it would be a juicy, heavy American-style burger, but it tasted lighter than I expected. I really enjoyed it.
모짜 버거도 이름만 들었을 땐 치즈가 듬뿍 들어가있을 줄 알았는데, 의외로 야채가 듬뿍 들어간 상큼한 버거에요.
With the Mozza Burger as well, I expected it to be filled with lots of cheese, but it turned out to be a surprisingly refreshing burger with plenty of vegetables.
케첩은 셀프로 가져갈 수 있도록 매장 곳곳에 하인즈 케찹이 준비되어있어요.
Heinz ketchup is prepared throughout the store for self-service; customers can take as much as they wish.
맛있게 먹었다면 벨을 울려달라고 써있었어요. 이건 미쿡 감성... 아들이 저희 가족을 대표해서 땅땅땅 울리고 나왔습니다 ㅎㅎㅎ
If you enjoyed the meal, there was a sign to ring the bell. My son, representing our family, rang the bell and came out with a big smile :)
배가 불러서 아메리칸 빌리지 산책을 좀 하고 싶었으나, 방에 올라오고 싶다는 아드님 때문에 어른들끼리 맥주를 마셨네요.
이렇게 오키나와에서의 3일차는 마무리되었습니다 :)
After enjoying dinner at A&W, I was quite full and wanted to take a stroll in American Village. However, my son preferred to go back to the hotel, so I ended up having some beer. And that's how the third day in Okinawa came to a close.
