가고시마에서의 둘째 날, 숙소 근처에서 브런치를 먹고 하루를 시작하기로 했어요. 관광안내소에서 원데이패스를 구입한 뒤 근처를 둘러보다가 센테라스 1층에 에그앤띵스(Eggs ’n Things)가 보여서 들어갔어요.
On our second day in Kagoshima, we decided to start the morning slowly with brunch near our hotel. After picking up a one-day pass at the tourist information center, we wandered around the area and noticed Eggs ’n Things Coffee on the first floor of Centerrace, so we decided to go in.

에그앤띵스는 하와이에도 있는 식당인데, 정작 하와이에서는 영업 시간이 맞지 않아 가보지 못했던 곳이에요. 쌀쌀한 가고시마 아침 공기 속에서 만난 하와이 감성 브런치라니, 묘하게 대비되는 분위기가 인상적이었어요.
It’s a restaurant that also has locations in Hawaii, but ironically, we never made it there during our Hawaii trip because the hours just didn’t line up. So finding it here in Kagoshima—on a cool, slightly chilly morning—felt a little unexpected. The Hawaiian vibe against the crisp air made the experience stand out even more.
오전 10시 반쯤 방문했더니 매장은 비교적 한산한 편이었어요. 덕분에 여유롭게 자리를 잡을 수 있었고, 매장 안에서는 플루메리아 꽃 장식도 볼 수 있었어요.
We arrived around 10:30 a.m., and the place was fairly quiet. It was nice to be able to settle in without a crowd. Inside, subtle plumeria flower decorations added a gentle touch of Hawaii.
테이블에는 팬케이크와 함께 즐길 수 있는 메이플, 구아바, 코코넛 세 가지 시럽이 준비되어 있었어요.
Three syrups—maple, guava, and coconut—were already on the table for the pancakes, which felt like a small but thoughtful detail.
하와이안 브런치 카페인 만큼 커피도 코나 커피로 주문했어요. 코나 커피는 하와이 코나 지역에서 재배되는 원두로, 산미가 강하지 않고 부드럽고 깔끔한 맛이 특징이에요. 향은 진하지만 부담스럽지 않아 브런치와 함께 즐기기 좋았어요.
Since it’s a Hawaiian-style brunch café, I ordered Kona coffee. Known for its smooth, balanced flavor and mild acidity, it was easy to drink and paired well with the food. The aroma was rich without being too strong—just right for a relaxed morning.
아이는 키즈(하와이에서는 Kids=Keiki) 메뉴에서 팬케이크를 골랐어요. 팬케이크 3장으로 구성된 메뉴라 아이가 먹기에 적당한 양이었어요.
Our child chose pancakes from the kids (or “keiki,” in Hawaii) menu. The plate came with three pancakes.
따뜻하게 녹인 초코 펜을 함께 주셔서 먹기 전에 팬케이크 위에 뿌려 먹었어요. 시간이 지나면 금방 굳어버려서 나오자마자 빠르게 뿌려야 했어요.
A warm chocolate pen was served on the side, and we drizzled it over the pancakes before eating. It hardens quickly as it cools, so we had to do it right away.
짝꿍은 로코모코를 주문했어요. 하와이 아이홉에서 먹었던 것보다 조금 더 담백한 맛이었고, 전체적으로 플레이팅도 더 깔끔한 느낌이었어요. 일본이라서 그런 건지, 아니면 에그앤띵스 스타일이 원래 그런 건지는 모르겠습니다..ㅎㅎ
My husband ordered the loco moco. Compared to the one we had in IHOP Hawaii, this version felt lighter and cleaner in flavor. The plating was also noticeably neat and polished. Maybe that’s because we were in Japan—or maybe that’s just the style of Eggs ’n Things. I’m not entirely sure.
저는 연어 에그베네딕트를 주문했어요. 에그베네딕트 역시 플레이팅이 그림처럼 깔끔했어요. 부드러운 수란 위로 소스가 고르게 올라가 있었고, 아래에는 훈제 연어가 넉넉하게 들어 있었어요.
I had the salmon eggs Benedict. It looked almost too pretty to eat, with sauce gently covering the soft poached eggs and plenty of smoked salmon underneath. Once the yolk broke, everything came together beautifully.
매장 한쪽에서는 코나 커피 원두와 머그도 함께 판매하고 있었어요. 하와이였다면 기념으로 하나쯤 샀을지도 모르겠지만, 이번에는 구경만 하고 나왔어요.
Near the entrance, they were selling Kona coffee beans and mugs. If we had been in Hawaii, I probably would have picked one up as a souvenir—but this time, I was happy just to browse.
브런치 메뉴들도 전반적으로 깔끔하고 부담이 없어 맛있게 잘 먹었어요. 덴몬칸에서 여유롭게 아침을 시작하고 싶다면 한 번 들러볼 만한 곳이었어요 :)
Overall, it was a satisfying and easygoing brunch. If you’re looking for a relaxed way to start your morning in Tenmonkan, this is definitely a nice place to stop by.
