아이와 함께 서소문역사공원에 다녀온 날, 이른 저녁을 먹기 위해 서울역으로 향했어요.
서소문역사공원은 조선시대 천주교 순교자들이 처형되던 장소로, 현재는 추모의 의미를 담아 공원으로 조성된 곳인데요.
도심 속에서 조용히 산책하기 좋아 가족 나들이 장소로도 괜찮더라고요. 기회가 되면 별도로 자세히 포스팅해볼게요 :)
We visited Seosomun History Park with my child and then headed to Seoul Station for an early dinner.
Seosomun History Park used to be an execution site for Catholic martyrs during the Joseon Dynasty, but it has now been turned into a memorial park. It’s a quiet and pleasant place for a walk, and also a nice spot for a family outing.
이날 저녁은 서울역에 있는 파이브가이즈에서 먹었어요.
미국에서도 한 번 가본 적이 있지만, 아울렛 내 간이 매장이어서 파이브가이즈의 매력을 온전히 느끼기엔 아쉬움이 있었던 곳이라..
이번에는 제대로 된 매장에서, 맛있게 먹었습니다 :)
For dinner, we decided to try Five Guys at Seoul Station.
I had been to Five Guys once in the U.S., but it was a small outlet location, so I didn’t really get the full experience. This time, I finally got to try it properly—and it was definitely worth it.

오후 4시쯤 방문했는데도 대기가 살짝 있더라고요. 식사 시간에는 자리가 꽉차서 여전히 인기가 많구나 싶었어요.
We visited around 4 PM, and there was already a bit of a wait. By dinner time, the place was completely full, which showed how popular it still is.

주문하기 위해 기다리며 인스타그램 이벤트도 들여다보았지만, 스티커엔 큰 흥미가 없어 참여하진 않았답니다.
While waiting to order, I checked out their Instagram event, but I wasn’t really interested in the stickers, so I skipped it.
미국 매장에선 아쉽게 못 봤던 땅콩!
파이브가이즈는 기다리는 동안 무료로 땅콩을 제공하는 것도 특징이에요. 껍질을 직접 까서 먹어야하지만, 짭짤하게 구워져서 맛있더라고요.
And the peanuts!
Something I missed in the U.S.—Five Guys offers free peanuts while you wait. You have to crack them open yourself, but they’re nicely roasted and slightly salty, which makes them pretty addictive.
고를 게 많아서 처음에 당황스러울 수 있는 메뉴.
저 역시 미국에서 뭘 먹었는지 망각하고, 메뉴판 보며 어버버 주문해버렸어요.

I couldn’t even remember what I had before, so I found myself hesitating while placing the order. So I ended up ordering as below.

주문한 음식은 픽업대에서 받을 수 있는데요. 밀크쉐이크는 주문 후 금방 나오고, 버거는 좀 더 기다려야했어요.
You can pick up your order at the counter. The milkshake came out quickly, but the burgers took a bit longer.
미국 매장답게 탄산 음료는 자유롭게 리필해서 마실 수 있고요.
Like in the U.S., the fountain drinks come with free refills, so you can help yourself as much as you like.
케첩이나 수저, 물티슈 같은 일회용품도 필요할 때 자유롭게 가져다 쓸 수 있어서 편했어요.
Ketchup, utensils, and wet wipes are also available at the self-service station, which was really convenient.
기름진 버거와 밀크쉐이크를 같이 먹는 생각은 누가했을지?
I wonder who came up with the idea of pairing greasy burgers with milkshakes.. Somehow, it just works.
주문서에 적힌 번호로 알아보는 버거들! 어른들도 리틀 사이즈로 주문해도 되는데, 모르고 일반 사이즈로 먹었어요.
(정작 미국에서도 리틀로 먹었더라고요...;)
The burgers are labeled with order numbers, so it’s easy to find yours.
Even adults can go for the “Little” size, but we ended up ordering the regular size without realizing it. (Apparently, I had the Little size in the U.S. 😅)
양은 많았지만, 엄청 맛있게 잘 먹었어요. 육즙이 줄줄 흐르는 따끈하고 진한 풍미가 가득한 버거였습니다.
Even though the portions were quite big, everything was really satisfying.
The burgers were juicy, rich, and full of flavor—exactly what you’d expect from a classic American-style burger.
감자튀김은 컵에 담아주고도 봉투에 한 번 더 넉넉하게 담아줘서 양이 정말 많은 편이에요. 리틀로 주문했지만, 셋이 나눠먹기에 적당한 양이더라고요.
As for the fries, they don’t just fill the cup—they also add extra into the bag, so the portion is huge.
We ordered a Little size, but it was still enough for three of us to share.
미국에서보다 더 맛있게 먹었던 파이브 가이즈! 가격은 높은 편이지만, 육즙 가득한 미국 정통 버거를 맛보고 싶다면 한번 쯤 들러보기 좋은 곳이에요. 서울역에서 가족 외식 장소로도 괜찮은 선택이었답니다.
Honestly, I enjoyed Five Guys here even more than in the U.S.
It’s definitely on the pricier side, but if you’re craving a juicy, authentic American burger, it’s worth a visit. It’s also a great option for a casual family meal near Seoul Station.
