싱가포르 기념품 추천｜스타벅스 빈데어 단종이라니

여행을 다니기 시작하면서 기념품 취향도 조금씩 정해졌는데요, 스타벅스 머그컵 하나, 그리고 나라나 도시 이름이 적힌 마그넷 하나 정도는 꼭 챙기는 편이에요.
그래서 이번 싱가포르 여행에서도 빈데어나 디스커버리컵을 꼭 사야겠다고 생각했어요 :)
As I started traveling more, I found myself developing a small souvenir routine.
No matter where I go, I try to bring home two things: a Starbucks mug and a magnet with the name of the country or city on it.

여러 스타벅스 매장에 가보았지만, 빈데어가 보이지 않아 확인해보니 싱가포르에서는 단종된 것 같더라고요…?
제가 방문했을 당시에는 디스커버리 시리즈도 아직 출시되지 않아, 기존 라인과 새로운 라인 모두 구매가 어려운 상황이었어요…😭
I visited several Starbucks locations, but I couldn’t find the Been There series anywhere. After looking into it, it seemed that the line had already been discontinued in Singapore.
At the time of my visit, the Discovery Series hadn’t launched yet either, which meant neither the old line nor the new one was available.

싱가포르 한정 MD 상품은 다양하다.

잠시 그냥 나올까 고민했지만, 여행지 스타벅스를 빈손으로 나오기엔 아쉽더라고요.
I briefly considered leaving without buying anything, but it felt a little sad to walk out of a Starbucks in a travel destination empty-handed.

진열대 한쪽에는 싱가포르 로컬 디자이너들이 디자인한 제품들이 모여 있었는데요. 멀라이언과 곰돌이를 합쳐놓은 듯한 귀여운 캐릭터 디자인도 있었고, 싱가포르의 유명 관광지가 아기자기하게 그려진 머그들도 눈에 들어왔어요.
On one side of the display, I noticed a collection designed by local Singaporean designers. There were cute character designs that looked like a mix between the Merlion and a teddy bear, as well as mugs featuring charming illustrations of Singapore’s famous landmarks.

싱가포르도 현금없는 매장이 있다.

고민 끝에 제가 고른 컵은 싱가포르 디자인 그룹 wheniwasfour의 머그컵이었어요. 빈데어처럼 전용 박스가 있는 제품은 아니라서 비닐봉지에 담아 조심히 들고 와야 했습니다.
So I chose a mug designed by the Singapore-based design group 'wheniwasfour'. Unlike the Been There series, it didn’t come with a special box, so it was simply placed in a plastic bag for me to carry carefully.

An Exclusive Collaboration Designed for Starbucks Singapore

처음엔 조금 아쉬웠지만, 오히려 더 싱가포르다운 선택 같아서 지금은 만족스러워요.
빈데어나 디스커버리는 못 샀지만, 그날의 고민과 매장 분위기까지 함께 기억하게 해줄 또 다른 여행 기념품이 생겼어요.
At first, I felt a little disappointed. But looking back, it actually feels like a more uniquely Singaporean choice.
I may not have been able to buy the Been There or Discovery mug, but I ended up with a different souvenir—one that reminds me not only of the city, but also of that small moment of indecision and the atmosphere of the store.

우리나라랑 비슷하다ㅎㅎ

제가 머그를 구입한 이 지점은 회사 근처에 있는 매장이라 그런지 비교적 조용하고 차분한 분위기였어요.
덕분에 서두르지 않고 머그들을 하나씩 살펴볼 수 있었고요. 이번엔 빈데어 대신 다른 컵을 선택했지만, 뭐 그 나름대로 만족스러운 쇼핑이었습니다 :)

The branch where I bought this mug was located near office buildings, so it had a relatively calm and quiet vibe.
I was able to take my time browsing the mugs without feeling rushed.
Even though I didn’t get the mug I originally planned on, it still turned out to be a satisfying little shopping moment.
