싱가포르 여행｜아이랑 가기 좋은 아시아 문명 박물관 무료 전시 LET’S PLAY (~2026년 6월 7일까지)

싱가포르에서의 마지막 날- 체크아웃 후 호텔에 짐을 맡겨두고, 카벤나프 다리를 건너 산책해보았어요. 날씨가 어찌나 맑던지, 여행이 끝나가는게 너무 아쉽더라고요.

On our last day in Singapore, we checked out of the hotel,and went for a short walk across Cavenagh Bridge. The sky was perfectly clear, and somehow the beautiful weather made saying goodbye even harder.

예쁘게 꾸며져 있어, 사진 찍기 좋은 카벤나프 다리

카벤나프 다리(Cavenagh Bridge)는 싱가포르에서 가장 오래된 현수교(케이블에 매달려 있는 다리)중 하나로, 영국 식민지 시절 초대 총독 오드리 카벤나프의 이름에서 유래했다고 해요. 현재는 차량 통행이 없는 보행자 전용 다리로, 싱가포르의 역사적 상징 중 하나입니다 :)

Cavenagh Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in Singapore. Named after Sir Orfeur Cavenagh, a British colonial governor, it is now a pedestrian-only bridge and a quiet reminder of Singapore’s colonial past.

아시아 문명 박물관

다리를 건너고 나니, 아시아 문명 박물관이 눈에 보이더라고요.

After crossing the bridge, we spotted the Asian Civilisations Museum just ahead.

야외 체스판

거대한 체스판이 야외에 설치되어있어, 기념 사진을 남겨보았어요ㅎㅎ 너무 더워서 밖에서 게임을 하긴 힘들었고 박물관 안으로 피신했어요.

A giant chessboard was set up outside the museum, so we stopped to snap a few photos. It was far too hot to actually play, though, so we quickly headed indoors to cool off.

Let’s Play 전시는 2층에서 진행

아시아 문명 박물관은 식민지 시대 건물을 리노베이션한 공간이에요. 고전적인 분위기와 현대적인 전시 연출이 조화를 이루고 있어, 건물 자체도 멋스럽더라고요. 저희는 아이와 함께 보기 좋은 무료 전시 Let’s Play!를 관람하러 2층으로 이동했어요.

The Asian Civilisations Museum is housed in a beautifully renovated colonial-era building. Its classic architecture blends effortlessly with modern exhibition spaces, and the building itself is worth a visit. We made our way up to the second floor to see Let’s Play!, a free exhibition that’s especially enjoyable for families with children.

Let’s Play!는 아시아 전통 게임과 놀이의 역사, 이야기, 그리고 디자인을 보여주는 전시로, 체스·장기·마작 같은 게임뿐 아니라 상호작용형 체험 요소도 만나볼 수 있는 전시예요.

Let’s Play! focuses on traditional Asian games, exploring their history, stories, and design. Alongside familiar games like chess, janggi, and mahjong, the exhibition includes plenty of hands-on and interactive elements.

처음 전시장에 들어서서 해본 게임은 인생 게임 같은 보드게임이었어요. 판이 입체적으로 구성돼 있어서 더 재미있더라고요. 말을 직접 움직이며 진행하는 방식이라 아이도 쉽게 이해하고 즐겼어요.

The first game we tried was a board game reminiscent of The Game of Life. The board was three-dimensional, which made it even more engaging. Since players move the pieces by hand, our child quickly picked up how it worked and had a great time.

보드 게임을 대여할 수 있는 키오스크도 있었고.

There was also a kiosk where visitors could borrow board games, along with a space to sit down and play. 

대여한 게임을 즐길 수 있는 공간도 있었어요. 아이들과 함께 방문한 관람객이 대부분이더라고요.

Most of the visitors were families with kids, which made the atmosphere feel relaxed and welcoming.

이 외에도 각 나라별 전통 게임을 몸으로 직접 체험할 수 있도록 공간이 꾸며져 있어, 아이와 함께 움직이며 즐기기 좋았어요.

In other areas, children could physically take part in traditional games from different countries, making the experience both active and fun.

스케치존

체험 공간뿐 아니라 아이들이 자유롭게 그림을 그릴 수 있는 스케치존도 있어 잠깐 쉬어가기에도 좋았어요. 그림을 색칠한 뒤 스캔하면 화면 속에 바로 나타나 움직이는 모습을 볼 수 있었어요.

The exhibition also had a sketch zone, where kids could color and draw freely. After coloring a picture and scanning it, the drawing appeared on a screen and came to life — a small detail that really delighted our child.

Let’s Play!는 무료 전시라 부담 없이 들르기 좋고, 놀이를 통해 자연스럽게 각 나라의 전통 문화를 접할 수 있다는 점도 인상적이었어요. 계획없이 갑작스럽게 방문했지만, 아이와 간단히 즐기기 좋은 실내 어트랙션이었습니다 :)

Because Let’s Play! is a free exhibition, it’s an easy stop to add to your itinerary. It was especially nice to see how play can be a natural way for kids to experience different cultures.
We stopped by without much planning, but it turned out to be a fun and stress-free indoor activity — a lovely way to spend part of our last day in Singapore.
