싱가포르 대표 음식 중 하나인 칠리크랩! 저는 Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant이라는 곳에서 먹어보았는데요. 마리나 베이 샌즈 야경을 보며 식사하기 좋은 해산물 레스토랑으로, 분위기까지 함께 즐길 수 있는 곳이에요.
Chili crab is one of those dishes you simply have to try in Singapore. We decided to try it at Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant, a popular seafood spot where you can enjoy your meal with a stunning view of the Marina Bay Sands skyline. It’s the kind of place where the atmosphere is just as much a part of the experience as the food.

저희는 미리 예약을 하고 방문했는데, 덕분에 야외 테라스 자리에 앉을 수 있었어요. 조금 덥긴 했지만, 저녁이 되니 야외에 앉아 있기엔 크게 부담스럽지 않더라고요.
We made a reservation ahead of time and were lucky enough to get a table on the terrace. It was a little warm at first, but once evening came, the outdoor seating felt quite pleasant and added to the overall vibe.
테이블에는 앞접시와 수저는 물론, 물티슈와 비닐 장갑, 게를 발라먹을 수 있는 크랩 크래커까지 모두 미리 셋팅되어 있었어요. 참고로 물티슈는 1회만 무료로 제공되고, 추가로 필요하면 유료로 구매해야 한다고 안내받았어요.
Our table was already neatly set with side plates and cutlery, along with wet wipes, disposable gloves, and crab crackers for the chili crab. One thing to note is that wet wipes are complimentary only once—extras need to be purchased if you want more.
주변 테이블을 보니 다들 맥주를 많이 마시는 분위기였지만, 저는 술을 잘 못 마셔서 진저에일을 한 잔 주문했습니다 :)
Most tables around us were enjoying beer, but since I’m not much of a drinker, I went with a glass of ginger ale instead.
가장 먼저 나온 음식은 Golden Almond Prawn으로, 바삭하게 튀긴 새우 요리예요.
The first dish to arrive was the Golden Almond Prawn.
튀김옷이 두껍지 않아 느끼하지 않고, 시리얼과 아몬드, 버터의 고소한 맛이 더해져 정말 맛있더라고요. 자극적이지 않아서 아이도 부담 없이 잘 먹을 수 있는 메뉴였어요.
The prawns were lightly battered and fried until crispy, without feeling greasy. The combination of cereal, almonds, and buttery flavors made it especially satisfying. It wasn’t spicy at all, which made it a great option for my child too.

Soon after, the main dishes arrived.
이 날의 하이라이트는 역시 칠리크랩이었어요. 함께 곁들여 먹기 위해 빵도 같이 주문했는데, 토마토 베이스의 달콤한 칠리소스가 듬뿍 어우러져 있어서 게살은 물론 빵에 소스를 찍어 먹는 재미도 쏠쏠하더라고요. 이름에 ‘칠리’가 들어가 있지만 생각보다 맵지 않았고, 다만 게살을 발라 먹는 과정이 은근히 쉽지 않았어요. 먹다 보니 테이블 주변이 점점 지저분해지는 건 어쩔 수 없더라고요.
The highlight of the night was, of course, the chili crab. We also ordered bread to go with it, mainly to soak up the sauce—and it was a great decision. The sweet, tomato-based chili sauce paired perfectly with both the crab and the bread. Despite the name, it wasn’t very spicy. The only downside was that getting the crab meat out took some effort, and things naturally got a bit messy by the end.
Seafood Fried Rice도 함께 주문했는데, 새우와 해산물이 듬뿍 들어간 포슬포슬한 볶음밥이었어요. 간이 세지 않아 칠리크랩 소스와 곁들여 먹기 좋았고, 아이와 함께 먹기에도 괜찮은 메뉴였어요.
We also shared a plate of Seafood Fried Rice, which was fluffy and generously filled with shrimp and seafood. The seasoning was mild, making it a nice balance alongside the rich chili crab sauce, and it was another dish that worked well for sharing with a child.
Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant은 음식 맛은 물론 분위기까지 함께 즐길 수 있었던 곳이었어요. 미리 예약해 테라스 자리에 앉아 야경을 보며 식사한 시간이 특히 기억에 남았고, 처음 먹어본 칠리크랩이라 더 인상 깊었어요. 싱가포르에 다시 갈 기회가 생긴다면, 다음에는 다른 칠리크랩 맛집들과도 비교해보고 싶어요.
All in all, Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant was a memorable place where great food and a beautiful setting came together. Sitting on the terrace with the night view made the meal even more special, and since it was my first time trying chili crab, it’s an experience I won’t forget. If I get the chance to visit Singapore again, I’d love to try chili crab at a few other spots and compare.
