얼마 전 친구와 함께 예술의전당에서 진행 중인 '페르난도 보테로' 전시를 보러 갔어요. 전시를 보기 전, 간단하게 이른 점심을 먹기 위해 오페라하우스에 있는 그리시노(Grissino)를 방문했습니다.
If you're visiting the Seoul Arts Center, Grissino is a great place to stop for brunch before exploring an exhibition or catching a performance. Before seeing the Fernando Botero exhibition, my friend and I decided to have an early lunch there.
그리시노는 오페라하우스 2층에 위치해 있어요. 저는 처음에 예술의전당 지하에서 바로 올라가 찾으려다 조금 헤맸는데, 오전에는 공연이 없어 내부 출입이 제한되는 구역이 있더라고요. 오히려 건물 밖으로 나가 레스토랑 입구를 찾는 편이 훨씬 수월했습니다.
Grissino is located on the second floor of the Opera House. At first, I tried to reach it through the basement level of the Seoul Arts Center, but I ended up getting a little lost. Since there are usually no performances in the morning, some indoor areas are closed to visitors. I found it much easier to enter from outside the building through the restaurant's own entrance.
입구에는 식물들이 곳곳에 배치되어 있어 싱그럽고 편안한 분위기를 더해주고 있었어요. 브런치를 즐기기에 잘 어울리는 공간이었습니다.
The entrance was surrounded by plenty of greenery, giving the restaurant a fresh and relaxing atmosphere. It felt like the perfect place to enjoy a quiet brunch before heading to the exhibition.
평일 오전 11시쯤 방문했더니, 제가 가장 먼저 도착한 손님이었어요. 덕분에 한적한 분위기 속에서 매장을 둘러보며 사진도 여유롭게 남길 수 있었습니다.
I arrived around 11 a.m. on a weekday and turned out to be the first guest of the day. The peaceful atmosphere gave me plenty of time to look around and take photos before it started to get busy.
그리시노는 선결제 시스템이라 카운터에서 주문과 결제를 진행했어요. 번호표를 받아 자리에 앉아 기다리면 직원분이 메뉴를 직접 가져다주는 방식이에요.
Grissino uses a pay-first system. After ordering and paying at the counter, you'll receive a number, and the staff will bring your food to your table.
메뉴는 피자, 파스타, 리소토 등 다양한 이탈리안 요리를 판매하고 있었어요. 커피와 음료는 물론 젤라또도 준비되어 있어 브런치나 가벼운 식사를 즐기기에 좋았어요.
The menu features a variety of Italian dishes, including pizza, pasta, and risotto. They also offer coffee, other beverages, and gelato, making it a great choice for brunch, a light meal, or an afternoon coffee break.
친구와 음료는 각자 하나씩 주문하고, 이른 점심이라 가볍게 먹고 싶어 마르게리타 & 루꼴라 피자 한 판을 함께 나눠 먹었어요.
Since we wanted a light early lunch, we shared a Margherita & Arugula Pizza, and each ordered a drink.
저는 달달한 커피가 마시고 싶어 아이스 바닐라 라떼를 주문했어요. 달콤하면서도 시원한 맛이라 더운 날씨에 잠시 더위를 식히며 즐기기 좋았어요.
I chose an Iced Vanilla Latte. It was sweet, refreshing, and perfect for cooling down on a warm summer day.
마르게리타 & 루꼴라 피자는 일반적인 피자보다 플랫브레드 스타일에 가까웠어요. 쫄깃한 도우 위에 루꼴라가 듬뿍 올라가 있었고, 신선한 루꼴라 덕분에 기름진 느낌 없이 담백하게 즐길 수 있었어요.
The Margherita & Arugula Pizza was served in a flatbread style rather than a traditional pizza. The chewy crust was topped generously with fresh arugula, creating a light and balanced flavor without feeling greasy. It was simple, fresh, and perfect for brunch.
함께 나온 피자칼도 눈길을 끌었어요. 평소 보던 피자칼보다 둥글고 묵직한 디자인이라 조금 색다르게 느껴졌고, 덕분에 식사 중 작은 재미를 더해주었습니다.
One detail that stood out was the pizza cutter. It was much rounder and sturdier than the ones I usually see, making it a fun little touch that caught my attention.
식사를 마친 뒤에는 한가람미술관으로 이동해서 페르난도 보테로전도 함께 둘러봤어요. 도슨트 프로그램이 시작하는 시간에 맞춰 방문했는데, 많은 관람객이 함께할 정도로 인기가 많아 전시에 대한 관심을 실감할 수 있었어요.
After brunch, we headed to the Hangaram Art Museum for the Fernando Botero exhibition. We arrived just as the docent tour was about to begin, and the large crowd gathered around the guide showed just how popular the exhibition was.
대표작인 <벨라스케스를 따라 그린 시녀들>을 비롯해 보테로 특유의 풍성한 볼륨감의 인물 표현이 담긴 작품들을 감상하는 재미가 있었어요.
One of the highlights was Las Meninas, After Velázquez, along with many of Botero's signature paintings featuring his distinctive, exaggerated figures.
회화 작품도 인상적이었지만, 개인적으로는 힘 있는 필치로 완성한 스케치 작품들이 특히 기억에 남았어요. 단순한 드로잉만으로도 인물의 특징과 움직임이 생생하게 살아 있어 보테로의 뛰어난 드로잉 실력을 엿볼 수 있었어요.
While the paintings were impressive, I was especially drawn to his sketches. With just a few confident strokes, he captured movement and personality so effortlessly, offering a glimpse into the remarkable drawing skills behind his finished works.
브런치와 전시를 함께 즐기며 문화와 미식을 모두 만족할 수 있었던 하루였습니다. 예술의전당에서 공연이나 전시관람을 계획하고 있다면, 그리시노에서 여유롭게 브런치를 즐긴 뒤 전시까지 함께 둘러보는 코스를 추천드려요.
Brunch at Grissino followed by the Botero exhibition made for a relaxing and enjoyable day at the Seoul Arts Center. If you're planning to visit for an exhibition or performance, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Grissino for brunch before exploring the galleries.
