대한항공 Korean Air [수하물 파손 신고 및 보상 후기/인천공항 지점]

 

여행이 끝나고, 집에 와서 짐정리를 하고 캐리어 청소를 하는.... 저만의 루틴이 있는데요. 겉면을 닦으며 확인해 보니 캐리어 모서리에 금이 가 있더라고요.
After a trip, I usually unpack and clean my suitcase at home. While wiping the exterior, I noticed a crack on one of the corners.

깨진 캐리어는 5년 조금 넘게 사용한 하트만 Hartmann 인텐시티에요...🥲 집에 있는 캐리어 중 가장 가격대가 있는, 좋은 제품인데 깨져서 마음이 너무 아팠어요. (돈도 깨지고 캐리어도 깨진 여행😭)
The broken suitcase is from Hartmann, and I’ve been using it for a little over five years. It’s the most premium one I own, so I was really heartbroken to see it damaged.

이를 어째야 하나 고민하다가 검색해 보니, 대한항공 어플을 통해 수하물 파손 신고를 할 수 있더라고요.
수하물 파손 신고는 수하물 수취일로부터 7일이내에만 신고가 가능하기 때문에, 여행 다니면서 가방 확인을 잘 해야겠더라고요.
I wasn’t sure what to do, so I searched online and found that I could file a baggage damage report through the Korean Air app. Since baggage damage claims must be filed within seven days of receiving the baggage, I realized how important it is to check my luggage carefully while traveling.

대한항공 어플

대한항공 안드로이드용 어플에서는 더 보기 > 수하물 > 수하물 파손 메뉴로 접수할 수 있어요.
쓰레기통에 수하물 택을 다 버렸었는데, 다시 꺼내와서 입력을 했다지요.....
On the Korean Air Android app, you can file a baggage damage report by going to More > Baggage > Damaged Bags. I had already thrown away my baggage tag in the trash, but I ended up digging it out to enter the details…

수하물택 번호 10자리

탑승일, 항공권 번호, 수하물택 번호 10자리 등은 필수로 입력해야했고- 캐리어 전체 사진과 파손된 사진, 캐리어 종류와 크기, 가격, 브랜드, 모델명 등의 정보도 추가로 필요했어요. 구매 영수증이나 구입일은 필수 입력 사항이 아니지만, 참고가 되는 것 같아요.
접수할 때 처리 지점을 선택할 수 있는데, 한국 돌아오며 생긴 문제라 인천공항 지점으로 택했습니다.
I had to enter essential details like the flight date, ticket number, and 10-digit baggage tag number. In addition, I needed to upload photos of the entire suitcase and the damaged area, along with information about the suitcase type, size, price, brand, and model name. While the purchase receipt and purchase date weren’t mandatory, they seemed to be useful references.
When submitting the claim, I could choose a processing location. Since the damage occurred on my way back to Korea, I selected the Incheon Airport office.

접수 후, 약 3일이 지나니 보상에 대한 안내가 메일로 왔어요. 가방 수명 기간을 5년으로 기준을 두고 있어 크지 않은 금액이지만, 판매가가 낮지 않은 제품이기 때문인지 현금 보상이 가능하더라고요.
파손된 가방과 동일한 사이즈의 새 캐리어로도 보상이 가능했지만, 저는 현금 보상을 선택했습니다.
About three days after submitting the claim, I received an email with compensation details. Since they base the lifespan of a suitcase on five years, the compensation amount wasn’t very high, but cash compensation was an option.
I could have also chosen a new suitcase of the same size, but I opted for the cash compensation instead.

메일로 계좌번호를 회신한 후, 약 열흘 뒤에 입금 받았어요. 더 오래 쓸 줄 알았던 캐리어가 빨리 망가져서 마음이 아프지만, 그래도 보상을 받을 수 있어 다행이었어요.
After replying to the email with my bank account details, I received the payment about ten days later.

이후로 LA 공항 가면서 또 한 번 다른 캐리어가 깨졌지만, (이건 무슨 경우인지...) 보상 후기는 또 기록해보겠습니다. 집에 있는 가방들을 바꾸라는 계시인가봐요...😂
After that, on my way to LA, another suitcase got damaged (such sad things happening these days…). I’ll share my compensation experience for this one, too. Maybe it's a sign that I should start replacing the luggage I have at home…
