홍제폭포는 서대문구의 명소가 되어 관광객들도 많이 찾는 곳이 되었어요. 동네에서 외국인들이 카페 폭포 가는 길을 물어보는 경우도 꽤 많아서 신기한 요즘입니다. 처음엔 누군가 Excuse me, Miss?하고 말을 걸면 화들짝 놀랐는데, 이젠 외국인들에게도 인기 많은 곳이 되었다는 걸 실감하고 있어요.
Hongje Waterfall has become a well-known spot in Seodaemun-gu, attracting many tourists these days. It’s quite surprising to hear foreigners in the neighborhood asking for directions to the “cafe waterfall.”
At first, I used to be startled whenever someone said, “Excuse me, Miss?” but now I really feel how popular the place has become among foreigners too.
홍제천 주변에도 상권이 슬슬 늘어나는 중이에요. 주변에 식당이 많지는 않은데, 지나가다보니 생선구이집이 어느새 모밀집으로 바뀌었더라고요.
The commercial area around Hongje Stream is steadily expanding.
There aren’t many restaurants nearby, but I recently noticed that a grilled fish restaurant has turned into a soba noodle shop.
삼정모밀은 돈까스, 모밀, 솥밥 등을 전문적으로 파는 곳이에요. 부담없이 밥 한끼 먹고가기 좋아보였습니다.
Samjeong Momil specializes in tonkatsu, cold buckwheat noodles (momil), and hot pot rice dishes. It seemed like a great spot for a casual meal.

수저와 티슈, 물티슈 등은 테이블 옆 서랍에 있어요.
Utensils, tissues, and wet wipes are stored in the drawer beside the table.
곁들여먹을 수 있는 장아찌와 단무지는 덜어먹을 수 있도록 준비되어있어요.
Pickled vegetables and yellow radish, which you can enjoy as side dishes, are placed on the table for you to help yourself.
저는 연어 덮밥을 주문했어요. 밥 위에 양파, 생연어, 날치알, 어린잎이 올려져있고 감태도 같이 나왔어요. 간장 소스와 와사비 솔솔 뿌려서 먹었어요.
I ordered the salmon rice bowl. It came with onions, fresh salmon, flying fish roe, and baby greens on top of the rice, along with seasoned seaweed on the side. I enjoyed it with soy sauce and a sprinkle of wasabi.
아이는 치즈 카츠를 주문했습니다. 큼직한 치즈 카츠가 4조각이 나와요. 양은 적지 않은 편이에요.
My child ordered the cheese katsu. It came with four large pieces, so the portion was quite generous.
짝꿍은 비빔 모밀을 주문했어요. 매콤한 양념장과 납작만두도 함께 나오더라고요.
My partner ordered the bibim momil (spicy mixed buckwheat noodles). It came with a spicy sauce and some flat dumplings on the side.
오픈 초기라 조금 어수선하긴 했지만, 동네에 새로운 식당이 생긴 건 반가운 일이에요. 오래오래 잘 자리 잡아서 많은 사람들에게 사랑받는 맛집이 되길 바라고 있어요. 서대문구에서 정성껏 조성한 홍제폭포와 카페 폭포도 꾸준히 지역 명소로 자리 잡고, 함께 시너지를 낼 수 있으면 좋겠습니다 :)
It was a little busy when the restaurant first opened, but it’s really nice to have a new place in the neighborhood.
I hope it settles in well and becomes a favorite spot for many people.
Hongje Waterfall and Cafe Waterfall, which were carefully created by Seodaemun-gu, have also been becoming popular local spots, so it would be great if they could work together and bring more energy to the area.
