콜로라도 여행 중 덴버 근교 Greenwood Village에 위치한 Desert Donuts에 다녀왔어요. 현지인들이 많이 찾는 도넛 맛집으로, 다양한 수제 도넛과 커피를 즐길 수 있는 곳입니다.
During our trip to Colorado, we visited Desert Donuts, a popular local donut shop located in Greenwood Village, just south of Denver. Known for its made-to-order donuts, it's a great place to enjoy a variety of sweet treats along with a cup of coffee.
Desert Donuts는 덴버 근교 Greenwood Village에 있는 Arapahoe Marketplace 내에 위치해 있어요. 쇼핑센터 안에 있어 접근성이 좋고, 무엇보다 주차장이 넓게 마련되어 있어 차량으로 방문하기 편했어요.

Desert Donuts의 주문 방식은 조금 독특해요. 메뉴판에 있는 도넛 번호를 확인한 뒤, 원하는 도넛을 직원에게 주문하면 되는데요. 클래식 아이싱 도넛부터 다양한 토핑이 올라간 도넛까지 종류가 많아, 고르는 재미가 있어요. 단품 주문은 물론 콤보와 박스 세트도 선택할 수 있습니다.

Desert Donuts의 가장 큰 매력은 다양한 도넛 종류였어요. 기본 아이싱만 올라간 클래식 도넛부터 각종 토핑이 추가된 스페셜 도넛까지 선택할 수 있었는데, 무려 38가지 종류의 도넛이 있더라고요. 또한 일부 메뉴는 글루텐 프리(Gluten-Free) 옵션으로도 주문할 수 있어 식단에 제약이 있는 분들도 부담 없이 즐길 수 있어 보였어요.
From simple classics with a single layer of icing to specialty donuts topped with cookies, cereal, and other sweet additions, there were 38 different donut options to choose from. Some menu items are also available in gluten-free versions, making them accessible to a wider range of customers.
가장 인상적이었던 메뉴는 바로 시리얼 셰이크(Cereal Shake)였습니다. 진한 밀크셰이크 위에 도넛 한 개를 통째로 올려주는 비주얼이 정말 독특했어요. 사진으로만 봐도 미국다운 달콤함이 가득 느껴졌고, 디저트를 좋아하는 분들이라면 한 번쯤 도전해 보고 싶어질 만한 메뉴에요.
The menu that immediately caught my attention was the Cereal Shake. Topped with an entire donut, the presentation was both fun and over-the-top in the best way possible. Just looking at it felt like a classic American dessert experience, and it's definitely something dessert lovers would want to try at least once.
음료와 함께 즐기고 싶다면 콤보 메뉴도 좋은 선택이에요. 커피나 다양한 음료와 도넛을 함께 구성할 수 있어 아침 식사나 간단한 브런치로도 충분해 보였습니다. 저 역시 이번 방문에서는 콤보 메뉴(Drip Donut)를 주문했는데, 갓 만들어진 따뜻한 도넛과 드립 커피를 함께 즐길 수 있어 만족스러운 디저트였어요.
If you're looking for something more filling, the combo meals are a great option. They pair a donut with coffee or another beverage, making them suitable for breakfast or a light brunch. During our visit, I ordered the Drip Donut Combo, which included a freshly made warm donut and a cup of drip coffee. It was simple but incredibly satisfying.
주문 카운터 옆에는 Desert Donuts 로고가 들어간 키링 등 다양한 굿즈도 함께 판매하고 있었어요. 알록달록한 도넛의 귀여운 디자인이 눈길을 끌었고, 여행 기념품이나 작은 선물을 찾는 분들에게도 괜찮아 보였어요.
Next to the ordering counter, Desert Donuts also sells a variety of branded merchandise, including colorful donut-themed keychains. The cute designs caught my attention and would make fun souvenirs or small gifts.
주문을 마친 후에는 도넛이 만들어지는 과정을 직접 볼 수 있었어요. 직원들이 갓 만든 도넛에 아이싱과 토핑을 올리는 모습은 물론, 아이스크림과 셰이크 메뉴를 준비하는 모습도 볼 수 있어 더욱 흥미로웠어요. 눈앞에서 디저트가 완성되는 과정을 구경하는 재미가 있어 기다리는 시간마저 즐거웠습니다.
After placing our order, we were able to watch the donuts being made right in front of us. Seeing the staff add icing and toppings to freshly prepared donuts was surprisingly entertaining.
한쪽에는 주문한 메뉴를 받아갈 수 있는 픽업 데스크가 마련되어 있었고, 그 옆에는 직접 음료를 골라 마실 수 있는 파운틴 드링크(Fountain Drink) 코너도 준비되어 있었어요.
There was a pickup counter where completed orders were collected, and right beside it was a self-serve fountain drink station with a selection of beverages to choose from.
주문한 도넛들이 한자리에 모이니 보기만 해도 기분이 좋더라고요. 갓 만들어진 도넛이라 따뜻함도 그대로 느껴졌어요.
Once all of our donuts arrived, the display looked almost too good to eat. Since each donut is made fresh to order, they were still warm when we received them.
저는 Zebra Zack 도넛을 주문했는데요. 초콜릿 아이싱 위에 화이트 아이싱 드리즐과 오레오 쿠키 가루가 올라간 도넛으로, 이름처럼 얼룩말 무늬를 연상시키는 비주얼이었어요. 따뜻한 도넛과 달콤한 토핑의 조합이 특히 잘 어울렸고, 커피와 함께 먹으니 더욱 맛있게 즐길 수 있었어요.
I chose the Zebra Zack, a donut topped with chocolate icing, white icing drizzle, and crushed Oreo cookie pieces. The black-and-white pattern reminded me of a zebra, just as the name suggests. The combination of a warm donut with sweet icing and crunchy Oreo crumbs worked really well, especially when paired with coffee.
아이는 시리얼 셰이크 메뉴인 Loops Lake를 주문했어요. 바닐라 셰이크 위에 아이스크림 한 스쿱이 올려져 있었고, 함께 나온 도넛에는 화이트 아이싱과 알록달록한 Froot Loops 시리얼이 듬뿍 토핑되어 있었습니다. 미국 디저트다운 화려한 비주얼이 인상적이었는데요. 너무 달아서 결국 다 못 먹었다는 후문이…
My son ordered the Loops Lake Cereal Shake. It featured a vanilla shake topped with a scoop of ice cream, along with a donut covered in white icing and colorful Froot Loops cereal. The presentation was exactly what you'd expect from an American dessert—bright, playful, and over-the-top. It looked amazing, although it was so sweet that we couldn't quite finish it all!
