미국 타겟(Target) 쇼핑 후기 | 멜라토닌·상비약 쇼핑 리스트

미국 여행 중 하루는 타겟(Target)에 들러 멜라토닌과 상비약 위주로 쇼핑을 했어요. 타겟은 일반 마트이면서도 약국 코너가 잘 갖춰져 있어 여행객들이 쇼핑하기 좋은 곳으로 꼽히는데요. 매장도 넓고 깔끔하게 정돈되어 있어서 개인적으로 가장 좋아하는 마트 중 하나예요.
During our trip to the United States, I spent one day shopping at Target, mainly looking for melatonin and a few over-the-counter essentials. Target is not only a grocery and general merchandise store but also has a well-stocked pharmacy section, making it a popular stop for travelers. The stores are usually spacious, clean, and well organized, which is one reason why Target is one of my favorite retailers in the U.S.

타겟 걸어가는 길, 인도가 있긴 했지만 왜 만들었는지 의문이 들 정도로 아무도 걷지 않는 길이다.

덴버 근교에 머무는 동안 숙소 근처에 타겟이 있어, 직접 걸어서 다녀와 봤어요. 인도는 잘 마련되어 있었지만 대부분 차량으로 이동하는 문화라 길에서 보행자를 거의 볼 수 없더라고요. (노숙자만 한 두 명 정도🥲)
쌩쌩 달리는 차도 옆길을 따라 걷다 보니 조금 무섭기도 했지만, 현지 생활을 잠시나마 경험해 볼 수 있는 색다른 시간이었습니다.
While staying in the Denver suburbs, there was a Target within walking distance of our hotel, so I decided to walk there. The sidewalks were well maintained, but since most people travel by car, I hardly saw any pedestrians along the way. Walking next to busy roads with cars speeding by was a little intimidating, but it also gave me a glimpse of everyday local life.

다양한 종류의 카드들

매장 규모가 워낙 커서 식료품은 물론 생활용품과 의류까지 없는 게 없더라고요. 예쁜 카드들도 종류가 정말 다양해서 구경하는 재미가 쏠쏠했어요. 몇 장을 골라 장바구니에 담은 뒤, 이번 쇼핑의 메인 목적이었던 상비약과 멜라토닌을 찾기 위해 약품 코너(CVS pharmacy)로 이동했어요.
The store itself was huge and seemed to have everything—from groceries and household items to clothing and seasonal products. I also spent some time browsing the greeting card section, which had so many cute designs. After picking out a few cards, I headed to the CVS Pharmacy section, which was the main reason for my visit.

유산균과 멜라토닌

짝꿍이 시차적응으로 고생하고 있었기 때문에 가장 먼저 멜라토닌 코너부터 둘러봤어요. 평소에도 잘 먹었던 Natrol 제품으로 성인용 5mg 제품과 어린이용 1mg 제품을 각각 한 통씩 구입했어요. 구미 형태라 물 없이 간편하게 먹을 수 있고 맛도 괜찮아서 아이도 부담 없이 잘 먹더라고요.
유산균으로 유명한 Culturelle 제품도 살까 말까 고민했는데, 생각보다 가격이 꽤 비싸더라고요. 환율이 1달러당 1,500원 수준이다 보니 부담이 크게 느껴져서 결국 이번에는 구매하지 않고 구경만 했습니다.
Since my husband was struggling with jet lag, the first thing I looked for was melatonin. I ended up buying Natrol melatonin gummies, which we had used before. I picked up one bottle of the 5mg version for adults and one bottle of the 1mg version for children. They are easy to take without water, taste good, and my child has no trouble taking them.
I also considered buying Culturelle probiotics, which are quite popular, but they were more expensive than I expected. With the exchange rate close to 1,500 KRW per U.S. dollar at the time, I decided to skip them and just browse instead.

네이쳐메이드 영양제

평소 아이가 꾸준히 먹는 Nature Made 비타민C 구미도 눈에 띄었어요. 익숙한 제품이라 반가운 마음에 가격을 확인해 봤는데, 쿠팡 직구 가격보다 저렴하더라고요. 어차피 계속 먹는 제품이라 이번 기회에 한 통 챙겨 왔어요.
I also noticed Nature Made Vitamin C gummies, which my child regularly takes at home. Since the price was lower than what I usually pay through overseas online shopping, I picked up a bottle while I was there.

이 사진은 왜 찍었지...

사진에는 없지만, Beekeeper's 프로폴리스 스프레이와 목캔디(Soothing Lozenges)도 구입했어요. 여행 중 덴버 시내에 위치한 타겟에도 방문했었는데, 같은 제품도 근교가 1불 정도 가격이 조금 더 저렴하더라고요. 여기서 몇 개 사길 잘했다는 생각이 들었어요.
Although they are not shown in the photos, I also purchased Beekeeper's Naturals Propolis Spray and their Soothing Lozenges. During the trip, I visited another Target in downtown Denver and noticed that some of the same products were about a dollar more expensive there. Looking back, I was glad I bought them at the suburban location.

국민 소화제 Pepto Bismol

미국 국민 소화제로 알려진 Pepto-Bismol도 눈에 띄었어요. 어릴 때 한 번씩 먹었던 추억의 약이기도 한데, 다행히 평소 소화불량이나 배탈로 고생하는 편은 아니라 이번에는 구입하지 않았어요.
I also spotted Pepto-Bismol, often considered one of America's most recognizable stomach remedies. It brought back memories because I remember taking it occasionally when I was younger. Fortunately, I rarely deal with indigestion or stomach issues these days, so I decided not to buy any.

슈퍼마리오 갤럭시 굿즈

계산대로 이동하면서 보니, 슈퍼마리오 갤럭시 영화 굿즈도 판매 중이었어요. 사실 영화 개봉 소식을 이때 알았다는... 아이와 함께 영화관에 가서 보고 싶었는데 정작 아이가 관심이 없어서 아쉬웠어요.
On my way to the checkout, I noticed merchandise for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Funny enough, that was actually when I first learned the movie had been released. I thought it would be fun to watch it with my child, but unfortunately my child wasn't very interested.

BTS 보니 반가워서 :)

계산대에 진열된 타임(Time)지 표지에는 BTS가 장식하고 있어 찰칵. 여행 중 예상치 못한 곳에서 한국 가수를 만나니 괜히 반갑더라고요. 이제는 K-pop이 자연스럽게 전 세계 곳곳에서 보이는 걸 보면 신기하기도 하고, 한편으로는 대단하다는 생각도 들어요.
Near the checkout counters, I also spotted BTS on the cover of TIME magazine and had to take a quick photo. Seeing Korean artists in unexpected places while traveling always feels a little special. It's still amazing to see how naturally K-pop has become part of everyday life around the world.

목이 타서 스타벅스에서 음료 사들고 다시 걸어서 집으로...

돌아가기 전에는 스타벅스에 들러 프로모션 중이던 리프레셔를 하나 사서 마셨어요. 영수증을 버리는 바람에 무슨 메뉴였는지 기억이 안 나지만...😂 워낙 건조한 기후라 음료가 없었다면 걸어가는 길이 많이 힘들었을 것 같아요.

Before heading back, I stopped by Starbucks and picked up one of their promotional Refreshers. I threw away the receipt, so I can't remember exactly which drink it was, but it was much needed. The climate was incredibly dry, and the walk back would have been much harder without something cold to drink.
