미국 여행 중 빠질 수 없는 쇼핑 코스인, 트레이더조(Trader Joe’s)에 다녀왔어요.
Whenever I travel in the U.S., Trader Joe’s is one of those places I always try to visit.
트레이더조(Trader Joe’s)는 미국 전역에서 만날 수 있는 인기 식료품 마트로, 합리적인 가격과 자체 브랜드(PB) 상품, 그리고 개성 있는 간식들로 많은 사랑을 받고 있어요. 미국 여행 중 기념품을 구입하기 좋은 곳으로도 유명한데요. 이번 방문에서는 간식과 화장품을 중심으로 둘러보며 몇 가지 제품을 구입해 봤어요 :)
Known for its affordable prices, unique private-label products, and fun snack selection, Trader Joe’s has become a favorite among both locals and visitors. It’s also one of the best places to pick up souvenirs that you won’t easily find back home. During this visit, I spent some time browsing the snack and beauty aisles and ended up bringing home quite a few goodies.
입구 근처에는 트레이더조만의 감성이 담긴 다양한 장바구니들이 진열되어 있었어요.
트레이더조 토트백이 있으면 하나 사오고 싶었는데, 아쉽게도 이날은 보이지 않더라고요. 지점마다 차이가 있겠지만, 이곳은 토트백이 입고되면 금방 품절되는 곳이라고 들었어요. 미국 여행 중 트레이더조를 방문했는데 토트백을 발견했다면, 고민하지 말고 장바구니에 담는 것을 추천드려요 :)
Right near the entrance, there was a display of Trader Joe’s reusable bags in a variety of designs.
I was hoping to find one of the famous Trader Joe’s tote bags, but unfortunately they were sold out. From what I’ve heard, some locations sell through them almost as soon as they’re restocked. If you happen to spot one during your trip, it’s probably best to grab it while you can.
저는 예전에 구입한 ✅트레이더조 보냉백을 아직도 잘 사용하고 있어요. 이번에 갔더니 연보라색과 그린 컬러가 새로 나왔는데, 색감이 예쁘더라고요.
여행 갈 때나 캠핑 갈 때 음료나 간식을 담아 다니기 좋고, 장보기용으로도 활용할 수 있어 생각보다 자주 손이 가는 아이템이에요. 그래서 토트백만큼이나 기념품으로 추천하고 싶은 제품입니다.
I still use the Trader Joe’s insulated bag I picked up on a previous trip, and it has been surprisingly useful. This time, I spotted new lavender and green versions, and the colors were absolutely adorable. Whether it’s for road trips, camping, or even a quick grocery run, it’s one of those souvenirs that actually gets used long after the trip is over.
빵 코너에는 베이글부터 미니 케이크, 머핀, 쿠키 등 미국 마트 특유의 달달한 베이커리 제품들이 가득 진열되어 있었고요.
The bakery section was packed with classic American treats, including bagels, muffins, mini cakes, cookies, and plenty of other sweet baked goods.
과자 코너에서 가장 먼저 장바구니에 담은 제품은 ✅PB&J Snack Duo와 PB&C Snack Duo였어요.
PB&J는 미국의 대표적인 조합인 땅콩버터(Peanut Butter)와 딸기잼(Jelly)을 담은 스낵이고, PB&C는 땅콩버터와 초콜릿(Chocolate) 조합을 즐길 수 있는 제품이에요.
둘 다 길죽한 크래커를 달콤한 딥에 찍어 먹는 형태의 과자인데, 먹는 재미도 있고 맛도 좋아서 금세 손이 가더라고요. 특히 아이가 무척 좋아해서 여행 내내 간식으로 잘 먹었어요.
One of the first items that caught my eye was the PB&J Snack Duo and PB&C Snack Duo.
The PB&J version combines peanut butter and jelly, while the PB&C features peanut butter and chocolate. Both come with crunchy breadsticks that you dip into a sweet spread, making them a fun snack to eat. They were a big hit with my son and quickly became one of our favorite road-trip snacks.
✅Brown Sugar Boba Mochi도 버블티를 좋아하는 사람이라면 눈길이 갈 만한 제품이었어요. 패키지도 귀엽고, 부피가 크지 않아 가벼운 선물용으로 구매하기 좋아 보였어요.
Another product that looked interesting was the Brown Sugar Boba Mochi. If you're a fan of Boba, this is definitely worth checking out. The packaging is cute, and since it’s lightweight and easy to pack, it would make a fun little souvenir or gift.
시즈닝도 트레이더조에서 기념품으로 많이 구매하는 제품 중 하나예요.
특히 ✅어니언 솔트(Onion Salt), 어니언 파우더(Onion Powder), 알리오 올리오 시즈닝(Aglio Olio Seasoning) 등은 활용도가 높아 선물용으로도 인기가 많은데, 가격도 $1.99~$2.99정도로 부담이 적은 편이에요. 부피가 작고 무게도 가벼워, 여행 가방에 넣어 오기 좋아요.
Seasonings are another Trader Joe’s staple that many travelers bring home.
Popular options like Onion Salt, Onion Powder, and Aglio Olio Seasoning are versatile, affordable, and easy to use. Most of them were priced between $1.99 and $2.99, making them an easy addition to the shopping basket. Since they’re compact and lightweight, they’re also convenient to pack in a suitcase.
현지에서 사 먹은 간식 중 하나는 ✅Mochi Vanilla 아이스크림이었어요. 우리나라 찰떡 아이스와 비슷한 제품으로, 쫀득한 모찌 안에 바닐라 아이스크림이 들어 있습니다. 한 상자에 6개가 들어 있었고 가격은 $4.99였는데, 달콤한 바닐라 맛과 쫀득한 식감이 잘 어우러져 맛있게 먹었던 제품이에요.
One snack we actually tried during the trip was the Mochi Vanilla Ice Cream. It reminded me a lot of Korean mochi ice cream, with creamy vanilla ice cream wrapped in a chewy mochi shell. A box of six was only $4.99, and the combination of sweet vanilla flavor and soft, chewy texture made it hard to stop at just one.
✅생강 강황 티(Ginger Turmeric Herbal Tea)도 구입해서 마셨는데요. 덴버는 해발 약 1,600m에 위치해 있어 공기가 건조한 편이라, 여행 중 목이 자주 마르고 따갑게 느껴지더라고요. 여행 내내 따뜻하게 마시기 좋았고, 생강과 강황이 들어 있어 몸이 편안해지는 느낌이었습니다. 카페인이 없어 저녁에 마시기에도 부담이 없었어요.
I also picked up a box of Organic Ginger Turmeric Herbal Tea. Denver’s dry climate often left my throat feeling a little scratchy, and this tea was perfect for winding down in the evening. The ginger and turmeric blend felt soothing, and since it’s caffeine-free, I could enjoy it before bed without any issues.
간식 코너를 둘러본 뒤에는 화장품 코너도 구경해 봤어요. 규모가 크지는 않았지만 스킨케어부터 헤어케어까지 다양한 제품들이 진열되어 있었는데요. 트레이더조 자체 브랜드 제품이라 가격도 부담 없는 편이었고, 깔끔한 패키지 덕분에 선물용으로도 괜찮아 보였어요.
After exploring the snack aisles, I made my way over to the beauty section. It’s not a huge department, but there was a surprisingly wide selection of skincare and haircare products. Most of the items are Trader Joe’s own brand, which keeps the prices reasonable, and the packaging is simple yet attractive.
저는 예전에 사용해 보고 만족했던 제품들을 중심으로 몇 가지 구입해 봤습니다. 선크림과 페이스 크림은 개인적으로 잘 맞지 않아 이번에는 패스했고, 사용감이 괜찮았던 ✅치약과 향이 마음에 들었던 ✅핸드크림, 미스트, 바디로션 등을 담았어요. 여기에 ✅립밤, 아이크림, 스킨 세럼, 헤어 마스크는 평소 궁금했던 제품들이라 이번 기회에 함께 구매해 봤습니다.
I repurchased a few products I had enjoyed in the past, including the toothpaste, hand cream, facial mist, and body lotion. I skipped the sunscreen and face cream since they didn’t work particularly well for my skin. I also decided to try a few new items this time, including a lip balm, eye cream, facial serum, and hair mask.
이번에 구입한 제품들을 한곳에 모아서 찍어봤어요. 영수증을 확인해 보니 가장 비싼 제품도 $9.99로, 10달러를 넘는 제품이 하나도 없더라고요. 간식부터 시즈닝, 차, 화장품까지 부담 없는 가격에 구매할 수 있는 데다 한국에서는 쉽게 만나기 어려운 제품들이 많아 미국 여행 기념품이나 선물용으로 제일 좋은 제품들인 것 같아요. 미국 여행 중 트레이더조를 발견한다면 한 번쯤 들러보는 것을 추천합니다 :)
Before leaving, I laid everything out for a quick haul photo. Looking at the receipt afterward, I realized that the most expensive item I bought was only $9.99, and nothing in my cart cost more than ten dollars. From snacks and seasonings to tea and beauty products, Trader Joe’s offers plenty of affordable finds that are hard to come by in Korea. That’s exactly why it remains one of my favorite places to shop whenever I visit the U.S.
