미국 여행 중, 하루는 저녁을 먹으러 텍사스 로드하우스(Texas Roadhouse)에 방문했어요. 텍사스 로드하우스는 미국 전역에 수백 개의 매장을 운영하고 있는 인기 스테이크하우스 체인으로, 합리적인 가격에 푸짐한 스테이크를 즐길 수 있어 현지인들에게도 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 곳이에요.
One evening during our U.S. trip, we stopped by Texas Roadhouse for dinner. With hundreds of locations across the country, Texas Roadhouse is one of America's most popular casual steakhouse chains, known for its generous portions, affordable prices, and family-friendly atmosphere.
매장 입구는 아웃백 스테이크하우스를 연상시키는 삼각형 지붕의 건물이었어요. 입구 주변에는 대기 손님들을 위한 벤치가 마련되어 있었고, 넓은 주차장까지 갖추고 있어 전형적인 미국 교외 레스토랑의 분위기를 느낄 수 있었습니다.
The building itself immediately reminded me of Outback Steakhouse, with its rustic exterior and distinctive triangular roof. There were benches near the entrance for guests waiting to be seated, and the large parking lot added to the classic American suburban restaurant atmosphere.
매장 안으로 들어서자, 가장 먼저 시선을 사로잡은 건, 정육점처럼 진열된 스테이크용 소고기였어요. Sirloin 부위를 무게별로 썰어 진열해 놓은 모습을 보니, 본격적으로 식사를 시작하기도 전에 스테이크에 대한 기대감이 한껏 높아졌어요.
As soon as we walked inside, we were greeted by a display case filled with fresh steak cuts. Seeing the sirloin steaks neatly cut and arranged by size made us even more excited for the meal ahead.
테이블에는 메뉴판과 각종 양념, 그리고 태블릿이 비치되어 있었어요. 넓은 내부 공간에는 많은 손님들이 식사를 즐기고 있었고, 활기찬 분위기 속에서 현지인들이 가족이나 친구들과 편하게 식사를 즐기는 미국 패밀리 레스토랑의 매력을 느낄 수 있었습니다.
Our table was set with menus, seasonings, and a tablet, while the dining room buzzed with families and friends enjoying dinner together. The lively atmosphere perfectly captured the charm of an American family restaurant.
주문 후, 식전빵이 가장 먼저 나왔어요. 따뜻한 빵에 달콤한 시나몬 버터를 발라 먹으니 왜 많은 사람들이 이 빵을 추천하는지 알겠더라고요. 식전빵은 무료로 제공되며, 리필도 가능해 메인 메뉴를 기다리는 동안 든든하게 즐길 수 있어요.
Not long after we ordered, the famous complimentary rolls arrived. Served warm with their signature cinnamon butter, they were every bit as good as people say. The rolls are unlimited, so it's easy to see why they're one of the most talked-about parts of the Texas Roadhouse experience.
음료로는 Mocktails 메뉴 중 Strawberry Cucumber Fizz를 주문했어요. 딸기의 달콤함과 오이의 상큼함이 어우러진 음료로, 스테이크와 함께 즐기기 좋았어요.
For drinks, I tried the Strawberry Cucumber Fizz from the mocktail menu. The combination of sweet strawberry and refreshing cucumber made it a light and enjoyable choice alongside our meal.
애피타이저로는 Cactus Blossom을 주문했어요. 커다란 양파를 꽃 모양으로 손질해 바삭하게 튀겨낸 메뉴로, 바삭한 식감과 고소한 맛이 매력적이었고, 함께 제공된 소스는 느끼함을 잡아줘서 잘 어울리더라고요.
To start, we ordered the Cactus Blossom, one of the restaurant's signature appetizers. The giant onion is cut into a flower shape and fried until golden and crispy. Paired with the dipping sauce, it was a great shareable starter for the table.
키즈 메뉴로는 Lil’Dillo Steak Bites를 선택했어요. 한입 크기로 잘라진 스테이크가 제공되어 아이가 먹기에도 편했고, 사이드 메뉴로 선택한 Buttered Corn도 함께 곁들여 먹기 좋았습니다. 스테이크도 부드러운 편이라 아이가 맛있게 먹었어요.
For our child, we ordered the Lil' Dillo Steak Bites with Buttered Corn. The steak was cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy for kids to eat, and it was surprisingly tender as well.
어른들은 Rib & Steak Combo를 선택했어요. 립과 스테이크를 동시에 맛볼 수 있어 처음 방문하는 분들도 부담 없이 즐기기 좋은 메뉴인 것 같았습니다.
스테이크를 주문하면 사이드 메뉴를 두 가지 선택할 수 있는데요. 다양한 메뉴를 맛보고 싶어 시저 샐러드와 그레이비 소스를 곁들인 매쉬드 포테이토, 베이크드 스위트 포테이토, 베이크드 포테이토를 골라 보았습니다.
For the adults, we went with the Rib & Steak Combo. It felt like the best way to sample two of Texas Roadhouse's most popular offerings in a single meal.
Each steak entrée comes with a choice of two sides, so we decided to try a variety. We ordered a Caesar Salad, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, a Baked Sweet Potato, and a Baked Potato.
- 시저 샐러드: 신선한 로메인 상추와 치즈가 어우러져 스테이크와 함께 먹기 좋았어요. The Caesar Salad was fresh and crisp, making it a nice contrast to the rich flavors of the steak.
- 매쉬드 포테이토: 부드럽게 으깬 감자에 진한 그레이비 소스가 더해져 든든한 사이드 메뉴였어요. The mashed potatoes were smooth and comforting, especially with the savory gravy on top.
- 베이크드 스위트 포테이토: 오븐에 구운 고구마에 시나몬 버터를 곁들여 달콤하게 즐길 수 있어 인상적이었어요. The baked sweet potato was served with cinnamon butter, adding a touch of sweetness.

전체적으로 텍사스 로드하우스는 한국의 아웃백 스테이크하우스를 떠올리게 하는 곳이었어요. 푸짐한 스테이크와 다양한 사이드 메뉴, 활기찬 분위기까지 가족 외식 장소로 잘 어울렸으며, 미국 현지 패밀리 레스토랑 문화를 경험해 보고 싶다면 한 번쯤 방문해 볼 만한 곳이었습니다.
Overall, Texas Roadhouse felt very similar to Outback Steakhouse in Korea, but with an even more energetic and distinctly American atmosphere. Between the hearty portions, endless rolls, and wide selection of sides, it was an enjoyable family dining experience. If you're looking to try a classic American steakhouse during your travels, Texas Roadhouse is definitely worth adding to your list.
