홀푸드와 비슷한 미국 건강식품 마트, 스프라우츠(Sprouts) 후기

미국 여행 중, 홀푸드(Whole Foods)와 비슷한 분위기의 유기농 건강식품 마트인 스프라우츠(Sprouts Farmers Market)에 들렀어요. 저는 이번 여행 때 처음 방문하였는데, 유기농 제품과 건강식품을 좋아하는 분들이라면 구경하는 재미가 쏠쏠한 곳입니다.

During my trip to the United States, I stopped by Sprouts Farmers Market, an organic and health-focused grocery store that reminded me a lot of Whole Foods. It was my first time visiting Sprouts, and I quickly realized that it’s a fun place to explore if you enjoy organic products, natural foods, and health supplements.

신선식품 코너는 과일과 채소가 다양하게 진열되어 있었고, 정육 코너도 꽤 큰 규모로 운영되고 있었어요. 전체적으로 홀푸드와 비슷한 느낌이었지만, 조금 더 아기자기하고 동네 마트 같은 친근한 분위기가 느껴졌어요.

The fresh food section featured a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and the meat department was surprisingly large as well. While the overall atmosphere felt similar to Whole Foods, Sprouts had a more cozy, neighborhood-market vibe that made it feel welcoming and easy to browse.

✅ 건강식품 코너 (Health & Wellness Section)

스프라우츠는 건강식품들이 매장 한 구역에 크게 자리하고 있었어요. 고체 치약도 판매하고 있었는데 여행용으로 사용하기 좋아 보였어요.

One of the most impressive parts of the store was the dedicated health and wellness section. It occupied a large area of the store and was filled with vitamins, supplements, personal care products, and natural remedies. I even spotted solid toothpaste, which looked like a convenient option for travel.

타겟에서는 판매하지 않았던 Beekeeper’s 어린이용 프로폴리스 제품이 진열되어 있었는데, 가격($14.99)은 홀푸드와 같더라고요. 다행히 1년 사이에 가격인상이 되지 않았나봅니다…

I was also happy to find Beekeeper’s Naturals Kids Propolis, which I hadn't seen at Target. The price was the same as what I saw at Whole Foods ($14.99), and I was honestly relieved that it hadn't gone up over the past year.

오메가3가 30개짜리가 한통에 5만원 가까이 하다니... 무서운 환율ㅜㅜ

어린이용 오메가3도 평소 먹고 있는 영양제라 관심을 가졌으나, 생각보다 가격대가 높아서 못 샀어요.

Since my child regularly takes Omega-3 supplements, I checked out the kids' Omega-3 products as well. However, the prices were higher than I expected, so I decided not to purchase any this time.

Color Changing, Glow-in-the-Dark Bandages

귀여운 디자인의 야광 기능 밴드, 색이 변하는 밴드도 있었어요. 미국에서는 이런 아이디어 상품들을 마트에서 쉽게 만날 수 있어 구경하는 재미를 더해줍니다.

There were also some fun and unique items, including glow-in-the-dark bandages and color-changing bandages with cute designs. These little discoveries are part of what makes browsing American grocery stores so enjoyable.

건강식품 코너 한쪽에는 보이론(Boiron) 제품들도 진열되어 있었어요.
감기, 목 통증, 코막힘 등 증상에 따라 다양한 제품이 준비되어 있었는데, 필요한 증상에 맞춰 조합해서 구매할 수 있도록 구성되어 있는 모습이 인상적이었어요.

Another interesting section featured products from Boiron, a French brand known for its homeopathic remedies. There were products for various concerns such as colds, sore throats, and nasal congestion, all organized by symptoms, making it easy to find what you might need.

✅ 간식 코너 (Snack & Grocery Section)

간식 코너에는 오가닉 젤리와 무설탕/글루텐 프리 시리얼이 다양하게 진열되어있었어요.

The snack aisle was packed with organic gummies as well as a variety of sugar-free and gluten-free cereals.

익숙한 그림책인 “치카치카 붐붐(Chicka Chicka Boom Boom)” 알파벳 모양이 들어간 과자를 발견하고 반가워하기도 했답니다.

I was pleasantly surprised to find snacks featuring the alphabet letters from the familiar children's book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. As a parent, it was fun to come across something so recognizable while shopping abroad.

해발고도 1600m인 지역이라, 다른 지역에서 제작되어 온 과자 봉지들이 다 빵빵한 것도 신기했어요.

Since this area sits at an elevation of about 1,600 meters (5,280 feet), many of the snack bags looked unusually puffed up due to air pressure changes. It was something I hadn't really noticed before and found quite interesting.

유기농 원두와 말차 코너도 있었는데요.
특히 말차 제품은 종류가 굉장히 많아서, 말차를 좋아하는 분들이라면 한참 구경하게 될 것 같았어요.

There was also a section dedicated to organic coffee beans and matcha products. The matcha selection was especially impressive, with many different varieties available. Matcha lovers could easily spend quite a bit of time browsing that aisle.

Sprouts에서 자체 제작한 통조림도 보이더라고요. 올리브오일에 절인 훈제 굴은 궁금하긴 했는데 못 샀네요.

I also noticed several canned products under the Sprouts store brand. The smoked oysters packed in olive oil caught my attention, although I ended up leaving them behind.

두쫀쿠와 모양이 비슷한 두바이 초콜릿도 판매중이었고.

The store even carried Dubai chocolate pralines that reminded me of Korea's trendy Dubai chewy cookies.

간단히 데워먹을 수 있는 냉장식품이나 스프류도 다양하게 진열되어있었어요.

For quick and convenient meals, there was a wide selection of refrigerated foods and ready-to-heat soups as well.

저는 이 날 행사 중이던 오가닉 티 2종을 구입했어요. 하나는 엘더베리가 들어간 허브티로 면역력 관리에 도움을 줄 수 있는 제품이었고, 다른 하나는 레몬 버번 민트 티로 스트레스와 긴장 완화에 좋다고 써 있어 선택했어요. 두 제품 모두 카페인이 없는 허브티라 부담 없이 마실 수 있어 마음에 들었고, 미국 마트에서 건강한 기념품을 찾는 분들에게도 괜찮은 선택이 될 것 같아요.

I picked up two organic herbal teas that were on sale. One contained elderberry and was marketed for immune support, while the other was a Lemon Bourbon Mint blend designed to help promote relaxation and reduce stress. Both teas were naturally caffeine-free, making them easy to enjoy any time of day. They also felt like practical and healthy souvenirs to bring home from the trip.

이번에 방문한 스프라우츠는 신선식품부터 건강식품, 유기농 제품, 간식까지 다양하게 만나볼 수 있는 미국 건강식품 마트였어요. 홀푸드와 비슷한 분위기라 편안하게 둘러보기 좋았고, 평소 관심 있던 제품들을 구경하는 재미도 있었습니다. 미국 여행 중 마트 쇼핑을 좋아하거나 건강식품, 유기농 제품에 관심이 있다면 한 번쯤 들러볼 만한 곳으로 추천하고 싶어요.

Overall, I really enjoyed exploring Sprouts Farmers Market. From fresh produce and health products to organic groceries and unique snacks, there was plenty to see throughout the store. Although it shares many similarities with Whole Foods, Sprouts felt a bit more approachable and relaxed. If you enjoy grocery shopping while traveling or have an interest in organic foods and wellness products, I think Sprouts is definitely worth adding to your list during a trip to the United States.
