주말에 천호 현대백화점을 방문했다가, 점심으로 태국 음식이 먹고 싶어 스파이스 마켓에 다녀왔어요.
During the weekend, we visited Hyundai Department Store Cheonho, and since we were craving Thai food for lunch, we decided to try Spice Market.
스파이스 마켓은 현대백화점 천호점 12층 식당가에 위치한 태국 레스토랑으로, 정통 태국 요리를 즐길 수 있는 곳이에요. 창가 자리에서는 한강이 내려다보여, 식사와 함께 멋진 전망도 감상할 수 있습니다.
Spice Market is a Thai restaurant located on the 12th-floor dining level of Hyundai Department Store Cheonho. It serves a variety of authentic Thai dishes, and if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Han River while dining.
백화점 식당가이다보니, 매장은 전체적으로 깔끔하더라고요. 저희가 방문했을 때는 늦은 점심시간이라 그런지, 비교적 한산하여 웨이팅이 없었어요.
창가 좌석은 옆으로 길게 배치되어있어 커플끼리 데이트하기에 좋아보였고, 저희는 가족끼리 방문하여 테이블에 앉았어요.
Since it's located inside the department store, the restaurant was clean, modern, and comfortable. The window seats were arranged side by side, making them perfect for couples on a date, while we sat at one of the regular tables since we were dining as a family.
스파이스 마켓 메뉴는 팟타이와 카오팟 같은 태국 대표 요리부터 커리, 덮밥까지 다양하게 준비되어 있었어요.
The menu offers a wide selection of Thai favorites, including Pad Thai, Khao Pad (Thai fried rice), curries, rice bowls, and many other classic Thai dishes.
테이블에는 개인 접시와 수저, 티슈, 생수 등이 미리 준비되어 있어 편하게 식사를 시작할 수 있었어요. 마침 신메뉴인 태국식 곱창 덮밥이 눈에 띄게 소개되어 있길래, 궁금한 마음에 주문해보기로 했습니다.
결국 태국식 곱창 덮밥과 팟타이, 치킨 카오팟까지 세 가지 메뉴를 주문했는데요. 볶음면, 볶음밥, 덮밥으로 구성해 주문하니 맛이 겹치지 않아 골고루 즐길 수 있었어요. 여러 명이 함께 방문한다면 다양한 메뉴를 주문해 나눠 먹는 것을 추천드립니다.
Our table was already set with individual plates, utensils, napkins, and bottled water. One item that immediately caught our attention was their new Thai-Style Beef Tripe Rice Bowl, so we couldn't resist ordering it.
So we ordered three dishes: the Thai-Style Beef Tripe Rice Bowl, Pad Thai, and Chicken Khao Pad. It turned out to be a great combination since we had a rice bowl, noodles, and fried rice, allowing us to enjoy a variety of flavors without the dishes feeling too similar. If you're dining with family or friends, I'd definitely recommend ordering a few different dishes to share.
태국식 곱창 덮밥은 쫄깃하게 익힌 곱창과 특유의 태국식 매콤새콤한 소스가 잘 어우러져 색다른 매력을 느낄 수 있었어요. 곱창 특유의 고소한 풍미와 짭짤하면서도 감칠맛 있는 양념이 밥과 잘 어울려서 맛있게 먹었어요.
The Thai-Style Beef Tripe Rice Bowl turned out to be one of the highlights of our meal. The chewy beef tripe paired surprisingly well with the restaurant's tangy and spicy Thai-style sauce. The savory tripe and flavorful seasoning went perfectly with the rice, making it a unique and satisfying dish.
기본 반찬으로 나온 태국식 피클무는 아삭한 식감과 새콤한 풍미가 매력적이었어요. 자칫 느끼할 수 있는 메뉴들의 맛을 잡아주어 중간중간 곁들여 먹기 좋았습니다.
The meal also came with Thai-style pickled radish. It had a crisp texture with a pleasantly sweet and tangy flavor that helped balance the richness of the dishes. It was a refreshing side to enjoy throughout the meal.
태국 음식점에 가면 빠질 수 없는 대표 메뉴인 팟타이도 주문했어요. 새콤달콤한 타마린 소스가 쫄깃한 쌀국수 면과 잘 어우러졌고, 전체적으로 자극적이지 않아 부담 없이 먹기 좋았어요.
Of course, we also ordered Pad Thai, one of Thailand's most iconic dishes. The chewy rice noodles were coated in a sweet and tangy tamarind sauce, creating a well-balanced flavor that wasn't overly strong or spicy. It was an easy dish to enjoy, even if you're new to Thai cuisine.
치킨 카오팟은 태국식 볶음밥 메뉴로, 고슬고슬하게 볶아낸 밥에 닭고기와 채소, 계란후라이가 곁들여져 있었어요. 향신료가 강하지 않고 간도 부담스럽지 않아 아이가 특히 잘 먹었던 메뉴였어요. 태국 음식이 익숙하지 않은 분들도 무난하게 즐길 수 있을 것 같습니다.
We also tried the Chicken Khao Pad, Thailand's classic fried rice. It was served with chicken, vegetables, and a fried egg on top. The seasoning was mild, and the Thai spices weren't overpowering, making it a big hit with our child. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who prefers milder flavors or is trying Thai food for the first time.
큰 기대없이 방문한 곳인데 음식도 맛있고, 직원 분들도 정말 친절하셔서 만족스럽게 식사했어요. 쇼핑 후 식사할 곳을 찾고 있다면 한 번쯤 방문해보셔도 좋을 것 같아요.
We visited without particularly high expectations, but the food was delicious, and the staff were genuinely warm and friendly. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. If you're looking for a great place to eat after shopping at Hyundai Department Store Cheonho, Spice Market is definitely worth a visit.
