덴버 여행 마지막 날, 맛있는 에그 베네딕트가 먹고 싶어 덴버 다운타운 맛집을 검색하다가 'The Delectable Egg' LoDo 지점을 발견했어요. (*LoDo(Lower Downtown)는 유니언 스테이션을 중심으로 브런치 카페와 레스토랑, 바, 상점들이 모여 있는 덴버의 대표적인 관광·문화 지구입니다.)

Before leaving Denver, I wanted to enjoy one last American-style brunch. Since I had been craving Eggs Benedict, I searched for a popular brunch spot in downtown Denver and found The Delectable Egg in the LoDo (Lower Downtown) neighborhood. (*LoDo is one of Denver's most vibrant districts, centered around Union Station and filled with restaurants, cafés, bars, and local shops. It's a great place to explore before or after a meal.)

The Delectable Egg LoDo

식당 앞에는 노란 파라솔의 테이블들과 ‘Rise and Shine’ 이라는 귀여운 손글씨 입간판이 놓여있었어요.

The restaurant immediately caught my attention with its bright yellow patio umbrellas and a charming handwritten "Rise and Shine" sign outside. It had the cozy, welcoming feel of a neighborhood brunch spot.

The Delectable Egg는 오후 2시까지만 운영하는 브런치 레스토랑이에요. 저희는 정오가 조금 넘어서 방문했는데, 이미 테라스 좌석은 정리되고 있더라고요. 야외에서 다운타운 분위기를 느끼며 식사하고 싶다면 조금 더 이른 시간에 방문하는 것을 추천드려요.

The Delectable Egg is open until 2:00 PM, so I recommend arriving a little earlier if you'd like to sit outside. We visited shortly after noon, and the patio chairs were already being put away. It looked like the perfect place to enjoy brunch on a sunny day.

테이블에는 미국 브런치 카페답게 케첩, 핫소스, 소금, 후추 등 각종 양념들이 준비되어 있었어요. 특히 커피에 넣는 프리머를 산처럼 쌓아놓은 모습이 인상적이라, 사진을 안 남길 수가 없더라고요.

After we were seated, I noticed the table was stocked with ketchup, hot sauce, jam, and plenty of coffee creamers. The huge stack of flavored creamers instantly caught my eye—it felt like one of those little details that make American diners so distinctive, so of course I had to take a photo.

Kid’s Menu & Twisty Twigs

키즈 메뉴도 준비되어 있었고, 아이와 함께 방문하니 색칠놀이를 할 수 있는 종이와 크레용도 가져다주셨어요. 덕분에 음식을 기다리는 동안 잠시나마 즐겁게 시간을 보낼 수 있었어요. 물론 저희 아이는 계속 휴대폰을 보려고 해서, 크레용을 쥐여주며 주변도 둘러보고 그림도 그려보자고 열심히 설득했네요...😂

The restaurant also offers a kids' menu. Since we were dining with our son, the staff brought him a coloring sheet and crayons while we waited for our food. It was a thoughtful touch that kept him entertained for a while... although, like many kids these days, he still wanted to watch videos on my phone.

저희는 Kid's Oatmeal($4.50), French Toast Royale($15.95), 그리고 Smoked Salmon Benedict($18.75) 세가지 메뉴와 따뜻한 Signature Flavor Roast Coffee(12oz)를 한 잔 주문했어요. 여행 중 이렇게 커피를 마시며 여유롭게 브런치를 즐기는 시간이 참 좋더라고요. 바쁘게 관광지를 둘러보는 것도 좋지만, 카페나 브런치 레스토랑에서 잠시 쉬어가는 시간도 여행의 즐거움 중 하나에요.

For brunch, we ordered the Kid's Oatmeal ($4.50), French Toast Royale ($15.95), Smoked Salmon Benedict ($18.75), and I also ordered a 12 oz. Signature Flavor Roast Coffee. 
One of my favorite parts of traveling in the U.S. is taking a break from sightseeing and enjoying a slow brunch with a hot cup of coffee. Those quiet moments at local restaurants often become some of my favorite travel memories.

원두커피에 취향에 맞는 프리머를 골라 넣어 마시는 것도 꽤 재미있었어요. 바닐라와 헤이즐넛 등 다양한 향의 프리머가 준비되어 있어 그날 기분에 맞게 선택할 수 있었고, 덕분에 커피도 더욱 향긋하게 즐길 수 있었습니다. 

I also had fun trying the different flavored coffee creamers. There were several options, including vanilla and hazelnut, so I could customize my coffee however I liked.

Kid’s Oatmeal $4.50

Kid's Oatmeal은 따뜻하게 끓인 오트밀과 함께 설탕, 우유, 건포도가 따로 나왔어요. 기호에 맞게 곁들여 먹을 수 있었고, 전체적으로 죽처럼 부드러운 식감이라 유아들도 부담 없이 먹기 좋은 메뉴인 것 같아요.

The Kid's Oatmeal came with milk, brown sugar, and raisins on the side, allowing us to mix everything to our liking. It was warm, creamy, and mild, making it a great breakfast option for young children.

French Toast Royale $15.95

French Toast Royale은 브리오슈 프렌치토스트 2장과 달걀 2개, 그리고 햄·베이컨·소시지 중 하나를 선택할 수 있는 메뉴였어요. 달걀도 스크램블, 서니사이드업(반숙 프라이) 등 원하는 조리법으로 주문할 수 있어 취향에 맞게 즐길 수 있습니다. 프렌치토스트 위에는 버터가 듬뿍 올려져 있었고, 메이플 시럽도 따로 제공되어 원하는 만큼 뿌려 먹을 수 있었어요. 

The French Toast Royale included two slices of brioche French toast, two eggs cooked any style, and a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage. I liked that the eggs could be customized however you prefer, such as scrambled or sunny-side up. The French toast was topped with a generous amount of butter, and maple syrup was served on the side. The combination of sweet French toast, crispy bacon, and fluffy eggs made for a classic and satisfying American brunch.

Smoked Salmon Benedict $18.75

Smoked Salmon Benedict는 잉글리시 머핀 위에 훈제 연어와 수란이 올라가고, 매장에서 직접 만든 홀랜다이즈 소스가 듬뿍 더해진 메뉴였어요. 짭조름한 연어와 부드러운 수란의 조합이 정말 잘 어울렸고, 해시브라운도 고소하니 맛있었어요.

The Smoked Salmon Benedict was exactly what I had been hoping for. It featured smoked salmon, perfectly poached eggs, and the restaurant's house-made Hollandaise sauce on an English muffin. Everything balanced beautifully, and the crispy hash browns on the side were just as delicious.

식사를 마친 뒤에는 담당 서버가 카드 리더기를 들고 와 테이블에서 바로 결제를 진행했어요. 직원이 보는 앞에서 팁 비율을 직접 선택해야 해서 순간 살짝 긴장했는데요, 18% 정도 드렸던 것 같아요. 미국 여행을 여러번 다녀와도 참 적응되지 않는 문화 중 하나에요. (*세 가지 메뉴와 커피 한 잔을 주문하고, 세금과 팁까지 포함해 총 56달러 정도 나왔습니다.)

When it was time to pay, our server brought a handheld card reader directly to the table. One thing I still haven't gotten used to in the U.S. is choosing the tip percentage while the server is standing right beside you. I ended up leaving an 18% tip, and the total for three dishes and one coffee came to about $56, including tax and tip.

전체적으로 무난하게, 미국식 브런치를 즐길 수 있는 식사였어요. 다만 메뉴 구성을 보면 야채는 거의 없어서 조금 아쉬웠습니다. 미국에서는 브런치나 아침 메뉴를 주문하면 달걀, 감자, 빵, 베이컨처럼 탄수화물과 단백질 위주로 나오는 경우가 많아서, 신선한 채소를 함께 먹고 싶다면 샐러드를 따로 주문해야겠다는 생각이 들더라고요.

현지인들이 많이 찾는 분위기 속에서 여유로운 미국식 브런치를 경험할 수 있었던 곳이라 더욱 기억에 남았습니다. 덴버 다운타운에서 든든한 아침이나 브런치를 찾고 있다면 The Delectable Egg를 한 번 방문해 보시는 걸 추천드려요.

Overall, I really enjoyed my brunch at The Delectable Egg. The only thing I missed was vegetables. Like many American breakfast restaurants, the meal focused on eggs, bread, potatoes, and meat, with very little fresh produce. If you're craving something green, you'll probably want to order a side salad.

If you're looking for a hearty breakfast or brunch in Downtown Denver, especially around LoDo, I would definitely recommend The Delectable Egg. The portions were generous, the service was friendly, and the relaxed local atmosphere made it a wonderful place to end my trip to Denver.
