명숯불갈비는 무악재역 근처에서 고기 먹고 싶을 때마다 찾는 곳, 저희 가족이 동네에서 가장 좋아하는 숯불갈비집이에요. 예전에는 홍제역 쪽에도 지점이 있었는데, 지금은 없어지고 무악재역에 있는 이곳만 남았더라고요.
두 곳의 맛은 비슷했는데, 다행히도 이 지점이 90년대 먹던 추억의 양념갈비 맛을 그대로 이어가고 있습니다 :)
Whenever we feel like having some Korean BBQ near Muakjae Station, our family always ends up at 'Myeong Sutbul Galbi.' There used to be a branch near Hongje Station, but now only the Muakjae spot remains.
What’s great is that it still has that classic 90s-style marinated pork ribs flavor, so every visit feels a bit nostalgic.

명숯불갈비는 무악재역 1번 출구 도보 1분 거리에 있어요. 식당 앞 주차 공간이 몇 대 정도 마련되어 있는데, 자리가 많지 않아서 저녁엔 조금 붐비는 편이에요.
The restaurant is just a 1-minute walk from Muakjae Station, Exit 1. There’s a small parking area in front of the restaurant, but spaces are limited, so it can get a bit busy in the evenings.
명숯불갈비는 내부가 좌식과 테이블석 두 가지로 나뉘어 있어요. 예전에는 좌식 위주였는데, 요즘은 테이블 자리도 꽤 넉넉하게 마련되어 있더라고요. 저도 요즘 허리가 안 좋아져서, 저희 가족은 항상 테이블석에 앉아 식사를 해요.
The restaurant has both floor seating and tables, but we usually go for the tables since my back isn’t the best these days. The place is clean, cozy, and perfect for a relaxed family meal.
명숯불갈비는 고기 메뉴뿐 아니라 갈비탕, 뚝배기불고기 같은 식사 메뉴도 함께 판매하고 있어요. 점심시간에는 갈비탕을 드시러 오는 손님들도 꽤 많더라고요.
Myeong Sutbul Galbi doesn’t just serve BBQ—it also offers galbitang (beef rib soup), hot pot bulgogi, and other meal options. At lunchtime, quite a few people come by just for the galbitang.
주문하고 나니 고기와 함께 먹을 양파 슬라이스, 마늘, 쌈장, 쌈채소가 먼저 나왔어요.
When the meat comes out, it’s accompanied by sliced onions, garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and fresh leafy veggies.
밑반찬으로는 김치, 양상추 샐러드, 도토리묵 무침, 무생채, 피클, 데친 브로콜리, 가자미식해 등 다양하게 준비되어 있었습니다. 저는 가자미식해가 특히 맛있더라고요. 고기와 함께 먹으면 맛의 조화가 좋아 한 상 가득 차려진 느낌으로 즐길 수 있습니다.
There’s also a bunch of side dishes—kimchi, lettuce salad, acorn jelly salad, spicy radish, pickles, blanched broccoli, and skate fish fermented delicacy. Everything goes so well with the pork that you really feel like you’re having a full, satisfying meal.
명숯불갈비의 양념돼지갈비는 육즙이 풍부하고 달콤짭조름한 양념이 잘 배어 있어, 숯불 향이 고기 맛을 한층 살려주더라고요. 직원분들이 불판도 중간중간 갈아주셔서 끝까지 맛있게 먹을 수 있어요.
The marinated pork ribs are juicy and flavorful. The charcoal aroma really brings the meat to life, and the staff keep the grill plates fresh so every bite stays delicious until the very end.
다 먹어갈 때쯤 후식 냉면도 주문했는데, 함흥냉면 스타일의 새콤달콤한 육수가 양념갈비와 잘 어울리더라고요.
Towards the end, I usually grab cold noodles (naengmyeon). The slightly tangy, mildly sweet broth pairs perfectly with the meat.
후식으로는 늘 요구르트를 한 개씩 제공해 주셔서 입가심하기 좋고, 원하면 커피머신에서 믹스커피를 뽑아 마실 수도 있어요. 사탕도 준비되어 있어 식사 후 달콤하게 마무리할 수 있습니다.
For dessert, they always give each person a K-style yogurt drink, and you can help yourself to instant coffee from the machine. There’s even candy if you want a little sweet treat to finish off the meal.
무악재역 명숯불갈비는 가족과 함께 편하게 방문할 수 있는 동네 맛집이에요. 90년대 추억의 양념갈비 맛을 그대로 유지하고 있어, 숯불 향 가득한 양념돼지갈비를 끝까지 맛있게 즐길 수 있고, 밑반찬과 쌈채소, 후식까지 잘 갖춰져 있어 한 끼 식사를 풍성하게 마무리할 수 있습니다.
Myeong Sutbul Galbi is one of those cozy local spots that’s perfect for family outings. The marinated pork ribs still taste just like they did back in the 90s, charcoal-grilled and juicy, and the variety of sides and small extras make the meal feel really complete.
