을왕리 해수욕장 앞에서 즐기는 신선한 조개구이 [전남 회 조개구이]

인스파이어 리조트에서 호캉스를 즐기던 중, 잠깐 바다 구경이 하고 싶어서 을왕리 해수욕장에 다녀왔어요. 인스파이어 리조트에서 운영하는 셔틀버스도 있었지만, 바닷가에 발이라도 담그며 여유롭게 놀다오고 싶어서 차로 이동했답니다.

While staying at Inspire Resort, we decided to take a short trip to Eulwangri Beach. There’s a shuttle bus, but we were planning to walk around the beach, so we drove instead.

전남 회 조개구이

을왕리 해수욕장 앞에는 조개구이집도 많더라고요. 제가 방문한 곳은 ‘전남 회 조개구이’라는 식당이었는데, 가게 바로 앞에 주차할 수 있었고 성수기가 아니라 그런지 주차 공간도 여유로웠어요. 포스팅을 위해 검색하다보니 광고글이 대부분인데, 이 글은 순수한 내돈내산 후기입니다 :)

Eulwangri Beach is full of clam BBQ restaurants, and for lunch, we chose Jeonnam Hoe & Clam Grill.
Parking was right in front of the restaurant and plenty of spaces were available since it wasn’t peak season.

식당 내부

을왕리 해수욕장 바로 앞에 위치한 전남 회 조개구이는 바다를 바라보며 식사하기 좋은 곳이에요. 테이블마다 불판이 준비되어 있고, 곳곳에 선풍기도 설치되어 있어서 조개를 굽는 동안에도 덥지 않게 편하게 식사할 수 있었어요.

The restaurant is perfectly located right by the beach, making it a great spot for a meal with a view. Each table had its own grill, and fans were set up around the dining area, so it stayed comfortable even while cooking.

반가운 Route66

입구에는 Route 66 액자가 걸려 있어서 괜히 반가웠어요. Route 66은 미국 시카고에서 로스앤젤레스까지 동서로 가로지르는 역사적인 도로로, ‘미국의 어머니의 길(The Mother Road)’이라고 불릴 만큼 상징적인 도로예요. 예전에 미국 여행 중에 'Route 66 도로에 있는 올드 스파게티 팩토리(Old Spaghetti Factory)'를 방문했던 추억이 떠오르더라고요...

At the entrance, there was a Route 66 poster, which brought back memories of my trip to the U.S. For context, Route 66 is a historic highway running from Chicago to Los Angeles, famously known as “The Mother Road.”
I remembered visiting the Old Spaghetti Factory along Route 66 during that trip—it was a nice little nostalgia moment.

곤약면 샐러드, 청포묵 샐러드, 콘샐러드

저희는 조개구이 3인분을 먼저 주문했어요. 주문하자마자 샐러드 반찬류 세 가지(곤약면 샐러드, 청포묵 샐러드, 콘샐러드)가 먼저 세팅되었어요. 조개가 구워지기 전 간단히 입맛을 돋우기 딱 좋았답니다.

We started with 3 servings of clam BBQ, and three side dishes were served first, including a fresh salad.

치즈가리비

조개구이를 주문하면서, 네이버 예약 이벤트로 진행 중이던 치즈 가리비를 서비스로 받았어요. 가리비 4조각과 키조개 위에는 토마토 소스와 치즈가 듬뿍 올라가 있어서 아이도 특히 맛있게 잘 먹더라고요.

Thanks to a Naver reservation event, we also got a cheese scallop for free—four scallops and a pen shell topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese. My child absolutely loved it, and it was delicious for us too!

모듬 조개구이 3인 70,000원

주문한 모듬 조개구이는 대합, 백합, 가리비, 뿔소라 등 다양한 종류의 조개가 한 대야에 푸짐하게 담겨 나왔어요.

The assorted clams came in a big bowl, including surf clams, pen shells, scallops, and horned whelks.
Just seeing the variety made us excited to dig in.

불판에 올려서 굽굽

조개를 하나하나 불판 위에 올려 구워서 먹으면 되는데, 뜨거우니 장갑도 함께 제공해 주셔서 안전하게 조개를 뒤집을 수 있었어요.
조개가 구워지면서 입을 살짝 벌리고 육즙이 흘러나오는데, 너무 오래 구우면 조개가 탈 수 있어서 적절한 타이밍을 보는 요령이 필요하더라고요.

조개는 기호에 따라 초장이나 간장에 찍어먹으면 됩니다 :)

We placed each clam on the grill, and gloves were provided, which made flipping them safe and easy. As the clams cooked, they slightly opened and released their juices—delicious! But be careful not to overcook them, or they might burn.

You can enjoy the clam with soysauce or gochujang.

해산 라면 12,000원

조개구이를 다 즐긴 후 해물라면을 주문했는데, 라면 속에도 홍합, 조개, 오징어 등 다양한 해산물이 들어 있어 정말 맛있게 먹었어요.

After finishing the clams, we ordered seafood ramen. It was loaded with mussels, clams, squid, and other seafood, and paired perfectly with the kimchi that came as a side.

김치

함께 김치도 반찬으로 제공되었는데, 진한 국물 맛의 해물라면과 아삭한 김치를 함께 먹으니 조개구이 후 마무리 식사로 딱 좋더라고요.

The rich, flavorful broth and the crunch of the kimchi made it a perfect ending to our clam feast.

조개들의 흔적이 몽글몽글

식사를 마친 후에는 바다에 잠시 나가보았어요. 비가 오고 날씨가 영 좋진 않았지만, 발이라도 담그지 않으면 아쉬울 것 같더라고요.
모래는 갯벌처럼 곱고, 조개 때문인지 곳곳에 몽글몽글한 구멍이 있어 보는 재미도 있었어요.

We also stepped out to the beach for a quick walk. It was raining and the weather wasn’t great, but the soft sand made me feel great.

비 맞으며 바닷가에 발도 담그고, 쫄딱 젖어서 돌아왔다.

비 때문에 쫄딱 젖긴 했지만, 서울에서 가까운 곳에서 맛있는 조개구이를 즐길 수 있다는 걸 알게 되어 앞으로 종종 먹으러 와야겠다는 생각이 들었어요.

다행히 발을 씻을 수 있는 곳도 마련되어 있어서 편리했고, 근처에 소금빵 맛집도 있다고 하니 다음에는 꼭 들러봐야겠어요.

Even though we got soaked in the rain, it was worth it to discover that you can enjoy fresh clam BBQ so close to Seoul. There’s a place to wash your feet, which is convenient, and I heard there’s also a famous salt bread shop nearby—definitely adding that to my next visit!
