가고시마 이부스키 사라쿠 모래찜질 온천 후기•준비물｜덴몬칸에서 가는 방법

가고시마 여행 5일차, 반나절은 이부스키에서 보냈어요.
컨디션이 별로라 갈까 말까 고민을 많이 했지만, 이색 체험인 모래찜질을 또 언제 해보겠나 싶어 큰맘 먹고 다녀왔습니다 :)
On the fifth day of our Kagoshima trip, we spent half a day exploring Ibusuki. I actually wasn’t feeling my best that day, but since sand bathing is such a unique experience, I decided to give it a try.

올망졸망 귀여운 주먹밥 코너

아침은 간단하게 패밀리마트에서 사 먹었어요. 일본은 편의점 음식도 맛있고 종류도 다양해서 이것저것 고르는 재미가 있더라고요.
For breakfast, we grabbed onigiri 's from FamilyMart. One thing I love about Japan is how good and varied convenience store food can be. It’s always fun choosing what to try.

연어 주먹밥

제가 고른 연어 주먹밥! 연어와 밥의 조합이 짭짤하니 맛있었어요.
I picked a salmon onigiri, which had a nice savory flavor from the salmon and rice. 

따끈한 치킨도 한 조각

그리고 치킨도 한 조각 같이 사봤어요. 일본 편의점 치킨이 은근 맛도리인데, 겉은 바삭하고 속은 촉촉해서 간단한 간식이나 식사로 먹기 좋더라고요.
I also had a piece of fried chicken. Japanese convenience store fried chicken is surprisingly good — crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — perfect for a quick snack or light meal.

이부스키에 가려면 JR 열차를 타야 해서 먼저 가고시마 츄오역으로 이동했습니다. 전날 미리 구입해 둔 큐트패스를 활용해 트램을 타고 중앙역으로 향했어요.
To get to Ibusuki, we needed to take a JR train, so we first headed to Kagoshima-Chuo Station. We used the Cute Pass we had purchased the day before and took the tram to the station.

가고시마 츄오역 매표소

기차표는 무인 발권기에서 현금으로 구입할 수 있어요. 이부스키 가는 기차는 노란색 발권기에서 살 수 있습니다.
카드 결제는 ‘오렌지 카드’만 가능하다고 표시되어 있었는데, JR에서 예전에 사용하던 선불 카드라고 하네요.
Train tickets can be purchased with cash from the ticket machines. For the Ibusuki train, you need to use the yellow ticket machine.
It said card payment was only available with an “Orange Card,” which I later learned was a prepaid card that JR used in the past.

역별 이용요금이 정리되어있다.

발권기 위에는 역별 요금표가 정리되어 있어 목적지 요금을 확인한 뒤 티켓을 구매하면 됩니다.
이날은 이부스키까지 왕복으로 이동할 예정이라, 돌아오는 티켓까지 총 두 장씩 구입했어요.
Above the machines, there’s a fare chart listing the prices for each station. After checking the fare to our destination, we bought our tickets. Since we planned to return the same day, we purchased two tickets each — one for going and one for coming back.

이부스키역까지는 성인 편도 1,170 yen 입니다 :)

요건 편도 티켓

티켓을 보니, 옛날 우리나라 지하철 티켓이 떠오르는 크기와 디자인이더라고요.
The tickets reminded me of the old subway tickets that used to be used in Korea because of their size and design. 

개찰구

개찰구에 넣으면 반대편으로 다시 나오는데, 이동 중 티켓 검사를 할 수도 있어 잃어버리지 않도록 잘 챙겨두었습니다.
When you insert the ticket at the gate, it comes back out on the other side. Since tickets can be checked during the ride, we made sure to keep them safe.

1,2 플랫폼

저희가 타려는 이부스키행 열차는 1번 플랫폼에서 출발해, 안내 표지판을 따라 이동했어요.
Our train to Ibusuki departed from Platform 1, so we followed the signs to get there.

노란색 기차

플랫폼에서 잠시 기다리다 보니 노란색 기차가 들어왔습니다. 3량 정도로 이루어진 아담한 열차였어요.
After waiting for a bit, a bright yellow train arrived. It was a small train with about three cars.

내부는 지하철과 흡사했다.

열차 내부는 지하철처럼 좌석이 옆으로 길게 배치된 구조였어요. 출근 시간이 지난 평일 아침이라 그런지 굉장히 한산하더라고요.
Inside, the seating was arranged along the sides, similar to a subway. Since it was a weekday morning after rush hour, the train was very quiet and not crowded at all.

해안을 따라 달리기 때문에 멋진 바다 풍경을 볼 수 있다.

창밖으로는 바다 풍경도 보여 이동하는 동안 바다를 구경하는 재미가 있었어요.
During the ride, we could see the ocean through the windows, which made the journey even more enjoyable.

화장실과 휴지통

열차 중간에 화장실도 있었지만, 일본 열차라는 점을 생각하면 생각보다 아주 깨끗한 편은 아니었어요.
There was also a restroom in the middle of the train, though it wasn’t quite as clean as I expected for a Japanese train.

약 1시간 30분 정도 이동 후, 이부스키역에 도착!
After about an hour and a half, we finally arrived at Ibusuki Station!

가고시마츄오행 시간표

열차에서 내리자마자, 돌아올 때를 대비해서 가고시마 츄오행 열차 시간표를 사진으로 찍어두고요.
As soon as we got off the train, I took a photo of the train schedule for the return trip to Kagoshima-Chuo, just in case. 

티켓 수거함

개찰구를 통해 나갈 때는, 티켓을 이 수거함에 넣으면 되더라고요.
When exiting through the ticket gate, you simply drop your ticket into the collection box.

이부스키역

이부스키는 가고시마에서 모래찜질 온천으로 유명한 곳이라 역에 내리자마자 여행지에 온 느낌이 물씬 났어요. 역 규모는 크지 않은 아담한 편이었습니다.
Ibusuki is famous for its sand bath hot springs, and you can already feel the atmosphere of a hot spring town as soon as you arrive at the station. The station itself is quite small and cozy.

무료 족욕탕

역 앞에는 무료로 이용할 수 있는 족욕장도 마련되어 있는데요. 시간 여유가 있다면 잠시 발을 담그며 쉬어가기에도 좋을 것 같았어요.
In front of the station, there’s also a free foot bath. If you have some extra time, it’s a nice spot to relax and soak your feet for a while.

저희는 역 근처에서 점심 식사 후, 사라쿠 모래찜질 온천으로 이동했습니다 :)

After having lunch near the station, we headed to Saraku Sand Bath Hall.

한산한 이부스키

이부스키 거리는 한적한 온천 마을 분위기였어요. 크게 번화한 곳은 아니지만 여유로운 느낌이 있어 천천히 둘러보기 좋았어요. 여기가 규슈 최남단 지역이라 그런지, 날씨도 더 포근한 느낌이었습니다.
The streets of Ibusuki had the calm, relaxed atmosphere of a quiet hot spring town. It’s not a bustling tourist area, but that made it even nicer to stroll around slowly. Since this area is located at the southernmost part of Kyushu, the weather also felt slightly warmer.

마을 회관 같이 생긴 사라쿠 모래찜질 온천

사라쿠 모래찜질 온천까지는 도보로 이동했는데요, 천천히 구경하며 걷다보니 약 15분 정도 걸리더라고요.
We walked to the sand bath facility, and it took about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace while looking around the town.

2층에서 접수

2층 카운터에서 먼저 이용권을 구입한 뒤 안내에 따라 탈의실로 이동했어요.
First, we purchased our tickets at the counter on the second floor and then headed to the changing room.

대기표 발급 후 입장권 구입

모래찜질을 할 때는 제공되는 유카타(가운)로 갈아입고 밖으로 나가게 되는데요.
수건이 두 장 정도 필요한데, 하나는 모래 위에 누웠을 때 얼굴에 모래가 닿지 않도록 덮는 용도이고 다른 하나는 모래찜질 후 샤워를 하고 몸을 닦는 용도로 사용하면 돼요.
현장에서 수건을 구매할 수도 있지만, 미리 챙겨가면 비용을 조금 아낄 수 있습니다 :)

For the sand bath experience, you change into a provided yukata (robe) before going outside.
You’ll need about two towels. One is used to cover your face so that sand doesn’t touch it while you’re lying down, and the other is for drying off after showering. Towels can be purchased there, but bringing your own can save a bit of money.

모래찜질 구역에서는 사진 촬영이 불가능해 유카타를 입은 모습이나 모래찜질하는 장면을 찍지 못한 점은 조금 아쉬웠어요. (아이가 유카타 입은 모습 진짜 귀여웠거든요- 눈에만 가득 담아왔네요🥹)
해변으로 나가면 직원분들이 모래찜질 자리를 안내해 주시고, 모래 위에 누우면 따뜻한 모래를 몸 위로 덮어주는데, 생각보다 묵직해 몸이 단단히 눌리는 느낌이 들더라고요.

Photography is not allowed in the sand bath area, so unfortunately we couldn’t take any photos of ourselves wearing the yukata or during the sand bath experience.
Once you go out to the beach area, the staff guide you to a spot for the sand bath. After lying down on the sand, they shovel warm sand over your body. The sand felt heavier than I expected, pressing firmly against my body.

잠시 지나자 몸이 금방 따뜻해지며 땀이 나기 시작했고, 개운한 느낌이 들었어요. 약 10분 정도 진행되는데 짧지만 꽤 강렬했던 체험!
모래찜질 후에는 실내로 돌아와 샤워를 하고 온천에서 몸을 쉬었습니다.

After a short while, my body warmed up quickly and I started to sweat. The experience lasts about 10 minutes — short but surprisingly intense and refreshing.
After the sand bath, we went back inside to take a shower and then relaxed in the hot spring.

김이 모락모락 나는 해변

모래찜질을 마친 뒤 밖으로 나오니 해변에서는 김이 모락모락 올라오는 풍경도 볼 수 있었습니다. 이부스키가 모래찜질로 유명한 곳이라는 게 실감나는 모습이었어요.
When we stepped outside afterward, we could see steam rising from the beach, which really showed why Ibusuki is famous for its sand baths. There was also another free foot bath next to the hot spring, making it a great place to relax for a bit.

야외 무료 족욕장

온천 옆에도 무료로 이용할 수 있는 족욕탕이 마련되어 있어 잠시 쉬어가기에도 좋았어요.
쓰다보니 포스팅이 조금 길어졌는데요.. 모래찜질은 쉽게 해볼 수 없는 체험이라 이부스키에 온다면 한 번쯤 꼭 경험해 보길 추천합니다 :)
This post ended up being a little longer than expected, but since sand bathing is such a unique experience, I definitely recommend trying it at least once if you visit Ibusuki.
