전현무 계획 시즌2를 보다가 알게 된 태양의 서커스 쿠자(KOOZA) 내한 소식! 짝꿍이 재밌을 것 같다며 몇 달 전에 티켓을 미리 예매해 두었는데요, 어느새 공연 날이 훌쩍 다가왔더라고요. 오랜만에 본 공연이라 블로그에도 기록해봅니다 :)
I first heard about Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA while watching a TV show, and my partner immediately thought it would be fun, so we booked tickets months in advance. Before we knew it, the day of the show had finally arrived.
저희는 예스24에서 온라인으로 예매를 해두었고, 공연 당일에는 입구에서 실물 티켓으로 교환했어요.
공연장 위치가 잠실종합운동장 빅탑이라 9호선을 타고 이동했는데, 지하철 덕후인 아드님이 아주 신나하더라고요.
We booked our tickets online through Yes24 and exchanged them for physical tickets at the entrance. The show was at the Jamsil Sports Complex, and my son, a huge subway fan, was thrilled from the moment we got on Line 9!
태양의 서커스(Cirque du Soleil)는 캐나다에서 시작된 세계적인 퍼포먼스 서커스 단체로, 우리가 흔히 떠올리는 동물 서커스가 아니라 뮤지컬, 연극, 아크로바틱, 라이브 음악이 모두 합쳐진 ‘예술 공연’에 가까워요.
대사는 거의 없고, 대신 화려한 무대 연출, 감각적인 음악, 고난이도 아크로바틱으로 이야기를 풀어내기 때문에 어른은 물론 아이도 몰입해서 볼 수 있다는 게 가장 큰 매력이에요.
Cirque du Soleil is a world-famous Canadian performance company that has completely reinvented the circus.
Unlike traditional circuses, their shows combine theater, live music, acrobatics, and dance into one breathtaking performance. There’s little to no dialogue, so everything is conveyed through stunning visuals, incredible stunts, and immersive music, making it a show both kids and adults can enjoy.
특히 이번에 본 '쿠자(KOOZA)'는 태양의 서커스 작품 중에서도 가장 클래식한 서커스 스타일을 보여주는 작품이라 스릴, 웃음, 감동이 전부 담겨 있는 공연으로 유명해요.
KOOZA is one of their classic productions, full of humor, thrills, and emotional moments that keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
쿠자 세계를 이끌어가는 트릭스터 앞에서도 기념사진 한 장 찍었어요. 공연장 곳곳에 포토존이 정말 잘 되어 있어서 사진 찍는 재미가 쏠쏠하더라고요 :)
We even managed to snap a photo with the Trickster, a playful and mysterious character who guides the protagonist, the Innocent, into the circus world. There were photo zones throughout the venue, so it was fun to stop and take pictures along the way.
공연장 안에는 간식 판매 부스와 MD샵도 함께 운영되고 있었어요. 팝콘이나 음료 같은 간단한 먹거리부터, 쿠자 로고가 들어간 굿즈까지 다양하게 준비되어 있었어요.
Inside the venue, there were snack stands and a merchandise shop. You could grab simple treats like popcorn and drinks, or check out a variety of KOOZA-branded merchandise—from souvenirs to collectibles.
저희는 S석을 예매했는데, 사이드 자리였음에도 공연장이 그리 크지 않아 무대가 잘 보여서 관람하는 데 전혀 문제없었어요. 좌석에서 바라보는 무대 전체 풍경이 꽤 좋았고, 공연 몰입에도 전혀 방해가 되지 않았답니다.
We had S seats on the side, but the venue isn’t very large, so we had a great view of the stage and didn’t miss a thing. The setup made it easy to feel fully immersed in the performance.
공연이 시작되기 전부터 관객들의 흥미를 끄는 요소가 많았어요. 몇몇 배우가 장난스럽게 등장해 관객과 소통하면서 공연에 대한 기대감을 한껏 끌어올리더라고요.
그리고 공연이 시작되자마자 눈을 뗄 수 없는 아크로바틱의 향연이 펼쳐졌어요… (사진은 커튼콜 때만 촬영 가능)
Even before the show officially started, performers were walking around and interacting with the audience, which immediately got everyone excited.
중간에는 인터미션(휴식 시간)이 있어서 잠시 쉬어갈 수 있었는데, 약 20분 정도의 시간 동안 화장실을 다녀오거나 간식과 음료를 즐길 수 있었고, 공연장 내 MD샵과 포토존도 다시 한 번 둘러볼 수 있었어요.
During the intermission, which lasted around 20–30 minutes, we had time to grab a snack, visit the photo zones, or check out the merchandise. It was a perfect little break before diving back into the second half.
공연 후반부로 갈수록 아크로바틱과 광대 쇼의 스릴과 웃음이 절정에 달했어요.
트릭스터와 이노센트의 장난기 넘치는 장면과, 고난도 퍼포먼스가 이어지면서 마치 한 편의 짜릿한 모험을 보는 듯한 느낌이 들더라고요. 특히 휠 오브 데스(Wheel of Death) 장면은 정말 손에 땀을 쥐게 했습니다. 거대한 바퀴 위에서 아티스트들이 스릴 넘치는 연기를 선보이는데, 입이 다물어지지 않을 정도로 놀라웠어요.
무대 위의 조명, 음악, 의상까지 완벽하게 어우러져 시각과 청각 모두 만족스러운 시간이었습니다.
As the show moved into the second half, the acrobatics and clown acts reached their peak, delivering a perfect mix of thrill and laughter. The Wheel of Death was especially breathtaking—seeing performers take daring risks on the giant rotating wheel had me holding my breath and completely amazed.
With lighting, music, and costumes perfectly synchronized with every act, it was a feast for both the eyes and ears, making the entire experience unforgettable.
태양의 서커스 쿠자(KOOZA)는 가족과 함께 즐기기에 완벽한 공연이었어요. 공연 시간 약 130분이 정말 빠르게 지나가 버릴 정도로 몰입감이 대단했어요.
아티스트들이 선보이는 스릴 넘치는 아크로바틱을 보면서 인간의 한계는 과연 어디까지일까라는 감탄이 절로 나오더라고요. 라스베가스나 캐나다 본고장에서 직접 본다면 그 감동이 훨씬 더 짜릿할 것 같아, 꼭 한 번 가보고 싶다는 생각이 들었습니다 :)
The 130-minute performance flew by so quickly—it was incredibly immersive from start to finish.
Watching the performers pull off thrilling acrobatics had me wondering just how far human limits can really go.
I can only imagine how much more exhilarating it would be to see it in Las Vegas or Canada, and it’s definitely on my must-see list! :)
