첫째 날, 호텔 체크인 후 짐 풀고 조금 쉬다가 저녁 먹으러 오모테산도에 갔어요. 저희가 머물렀던 시나가와 프린스 호텔에서 야마노테선을 타면 한 번에 하라주쿠역으로 갈 수 있었거든요. 하라주쿠역에서 오모테산도가 멀지않아 슬슬 걸어갔습니다 :)
지하철 탑승 플랫폼까지 친절하게 알려주는 구글맵 진짜 최고에요.
After checking in at the hotel and unpacking our luggage, we headed to Omotesando for dinner. Omotesando is not far from Harajuku Station, and we easily reached it by taking the Yamanote Line from Shinagawa. I was amazed by Google Maps is as it provides helpful directions all the way to the subway platforms.
배가 고파서 어딜 갈지 고민하다가, 구글맵에서 [로스트 비프 오노]라는 식당을 알게 되었어요. 평소보다 덜 붐비다고 적혀있어서 일단 찾아가보았습니다.
I found a restaurant called "Roast Beef Ohno" on Google Maps as well. Since it was mentioned that it was less crowded than usual, I decided to give it a try.

이건 오후 8시쯤, 밥먹고 나올 때 찍은 사진이에요. 언제가도 웨이팅이 늘 있는 곳이라 하더라고요. 저희가 밥 먹으러 줄 섰을 때는 앞에 4~5팀 정도 있었는데, 40분 정도 기다렸던 것 같아요.
This is a photo taken around 8 p.m. after we finished our meal. It seems like it's always a place with a waiting list no matter when you go. When we lined up to eat, there were about 4 to 5 groups ahead of us, and I think we waited for about 40 minutes.
기다리며 일단 메뉴판 탐색- 고기가 일본산/호주산이냐에 따라 가격이 조금 달랐어요. (일본산이 600엔 정도 더 비쌈) 저희는 일본산 와규 곱배기 1개, 호주산 1개 요렇게 주문했어요. 밥 양도 고를 수 있었는데 뭘 택했는지는 기억이 안나네요...
While waiting, I took the time to explore the menu. The prices varied slightly depending on whether the beef was Japanese or Australian. The Japanese beef was priced about 600￥ higher. We decided to order one serving of x2 size Japanese Wagyu beef and one serving of Australian beef. We also had the option to choose the amount of rice.
직원의 안내를 받아 식당 외부 좌석에 착석했어요. 탁 트여있어서 오히려 안에서 먹는 것보다 낫더라고요.
We sat at an outdoor seat of the restaurant. It was nice to have an open view, and I found it even better than eating inside.
테이블에는 차가운 보리차와 컵, 티슈, 소금, 후추 등이 셋팅 되어 있었어요.
On the table, there was cold barley tea, cups, tissue, salt, and pepper.
한국인 손님이 많이 오는 곳인지 먹는 방법도 한글로 써있어요. 처음엔 그대로 먹다가, 원하는 양념을 추가해서 먹으라고 되어있어요.
It seems like this place is popular among Korean customers, as the eating instructions are also written in Korean. Initially, we ate the food as it was served, but the instructions mentioned that we could add desired seasonings to enhance the flavor.
목이 말라서 진저 에일 1개와 오렌지 주스 1개도 주문했어요. 병 째로 나와서 뭔가 더 시원하게 느껴짐 :)
I also ordered one ginger ale and one orange juice. They were both very refreshing and satisfying.
일어를 잘 모르다보니, 좀 답답하긴 하더라고요. 영어라도 하는 게 얼마나 다행인지. 그래도 파파고 어플로 촬영하니, 어느정도 번역이 되더라고요. 세상 진짜 좋아졌어요.
Not knowing Japanese well, I felt a bit frustrated. It's fortunate that I can at least communicate in English. Nevertheless, it's amazing how helpful the Papago app is when I take a photo for translation.
드디어 나온 와규동과 비프동!
크기 비교를 위해 사진을 찍어보았어요. 워낙 배가 고프고 피곤했던 날이라 두 개의 맛의 차이를 크게 못 느끼고... 그저 맛있게 먹었습니다.
참고로 호주산 로스트 비프의 가격은 부가세 포함 1210엔이었어요.
You can see how big the x2 Wagyu dish is, compared to the ordinary beef dish. I was so hungry and tired that day, so I couldn't really notice a big difference in taste between the two. I simply enjoyed both of them.
사골맛 나는 국물, 버터인 줄 알았던 작은 크림치즈 한 조각, 그리고 홀스레디시가 함께 나와요.
The dish came with a flavorful broth, a small piece of creamy cheese that I initially thought was butter, and a side of horse radish.
아드님 피셜, 화산 모양 같다며ㅎㅎㅎ 밥 위에 고기가 둘러져있고 위에 계란 노른자가 예쁘게 톡 올라가 있어요. 소스의 배합도 괜찮고, 제 입맛에는 느끼하지도 않고 맛있었어요.
아이와 굳이 줄서서 기다리며 먹지 않겠다던 다짐은 여행 시작과 동시에 깨져버렸지만, 만족스러운 식사였습니다ㅎㅎ
The dish had a volcano-like shape, with the rice surrounded by meat and a beautifully placed egg yolk on top. The combination of sauces was well-balanced, resulting in a delicious flavor. Although I had initially resolved not to wait in line with my child, that commitment was broken right at the start of the trip. Nevertheless, the meal was still satisfying.
밥 먹고 난 이후에는 오모테산도 힐즈까지 걸어갔다왔어요. 2007년에 왔던 기억은 나는데, 16년이 지나도 여전히 깔끔하고 좋더라고요. 안에 한바퀴 돌고 싶었지만, 아이가 큰 흥미를 보이지 않은데다 시간도 늦도 해서 기념샷만 찍고 호텔로 돌아갔어요. 짝궁은 한 번 더 가고 싶어했지만 바쁜 일정에 결국 이게 처음이자 마지막이 되어버렸습니다.
After finishing the meal, I walked to Omotesando Hills. I had visited there in 2007, and even after 16 years, it still looked so clean and nice. I wanted to take a stroll inside, but my child didn't show much interest, and it was getting late, so we just took some photos and returned to the hotel. My husband wanted to go again, but due to a busy schedule, this visit ended up being both our first and last.
