미국 LA로 PORT택배 보내기 (feat. 대한글로지스)

미국에 있는 가족의 부탁으로 PORT택배라는 걸 처음 보내보았어요. PORT택배는 일산의 물류센터에 택배 또는 방문하여 물품을 접수하면 미국 LA 롱비치 지점에서 직접 픽업하는 상품이에요. 그래서 가격이 비교적 저렴한 편입니다...ㅎㅎㅎ 가족이 다행히 LA에 있어서 이용할 수 있었어요.
Recently, I tried out a service called PORT Delivery to send a package to the United States for the first time. PORT Delivery works by allowing you to either send a package to their logistics center in Ilsan or drop off items in person, and then they are picked up directly from their Long Beach branch in LA, USA. Thankfully, since my family is located in LA, we were able to make use of this service.


일단 박스를 구매하러 우체국에 갔습니다. 우체국 박스 크기 기준으로 요금이 책정되기도 하고, 우체국 박스가 일반 택배박스보다 도톰해서 더 튼튼해 보이더라고요.
First, I went to the post office to buy a box. The fee is determined based on the size of the boxes sold at the post office, and these boxes are thicker and sturdier than regular shipping boxes.

제가 접수했을 때는 우체국 5호 박스(480*380*340mm) 기준 가격이 7만원+통관비$10이었어요. (이 가격이 기본이고, 이하의 물품에 대해서도 동일한 가격이 책정된다고 하셨어요.)
박스당 보낼 수 있는 최대 무게는 30kg이지만, 국내 택배사는 20kg까지만 수거를 해주시기 때문에 20kg정도로만 내용물을 채우기로 했어요.
When I submitted my package, the price was based on the standard size of the 5th Post Office Box, which measures 480*380*340mm. The price was 70,000 won plus a $10 customs clearance fee. (They mentioned that this price is a base price, and the same price is applied for items below this.) The maximum weight allowed per box is 30kg, but since domestic delivery services in Korea only collect packages up to 20kg, I decided to fill the contents to about 20kg.

주로 책이 대부분이라, 4호 박스를 가득 채우니 20kg 가까이 되더라고요. 택배사는 로젠택배를 이용했습니다. 홈페이지에서 간편하게 접수가 가능하더라고요.
I used the 4th size box, and since most of the items were books, it weighed close to 20kg.

종이박스다 보니, 혹시나 찢어질까 봐 겁이 나서 테이핑은 있는 힘껏 해줬어요. 안에 비닐 두 겹 넣었지만, 바다 건너가는 거라 왠지 불안하더라고요; 다 싸고 보니 조카 선물이라도 작게 챙겨 넣었어야 하는데. 요즘 정신이 너무 없는 시기라 깜빡했네요...🥲
Because it was a paper box, I was worried it might tear, so I taped it securely. I also added two layers of plastic bags inside, just to be safe. After everything was packed, I realized I should have included a small gift for my nephew and niece. Lately, I've been so absent-minded that I completely forgot.

대한 글로지스에 도착!

택배 접수 후, 대한글로지스 카카오톡으로 보내는 사람(이름, 택배사 및 운송장번호)과 받는 사람(이름, 미국 연락처, 이메일 주소, 박스 내용물)  정보를 알려주었어요. 접수하며 배송비 7만원은 계좌이체하고, 통관비 10불은 미국 현지에서 찾을 때 현금으로 드리면 된다고 하더라고요.
택배는 하루이틀 걸려서 대한글로지스 물류창고에 잘 도착했고. 이제 제 손을 떠났으니 무사히 미국까지 도착해 주길 기다리는 시간이 남았습니다🙏
After submitting the parcel, I provided the sender's information (name, delivery company, and tracking number) and the recipient's information (name, US contact number, email address, and contents of the box) to 대한글로지스 (Daehan Global Logistics) via KakaoTalk. During the submission, I paid the shipping fee of 70,000 won via bank transfer, and it was mentioned that the customs clearance fee of $10 could be paid in cash upon arrival in the US.

The parcel arrived safely at the Daehan Logistics warehouse within a day or two.

.....그리고 약 한 달 반 후, 받는 사람에게 도착 예정 선편이 이메일로 전달되었어요.
And about a month and a half later, an arrival notification was sent to the recipient via email.

미국까지 가는데 약 열흘 정도 걸리더라고요. 픽업 시에는 통관비 10불을 현금으로 준비해서 가야 합니다. (픽업 가능 시간은 평일 오전 8시~ 오후 5시였어요... 현재는 바뀌었을 수도...)
It took about ten days to reach the United States. When picking up the package, it's necessary to have $10 in cash ready for customs clearance. (The pickup hours were from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays... although they might have changed now.)

미국에 무사히 도착

약 2달 정도 걸려서 도착했는데, 다행히 물품 손상 없이 배송이 잘 되었어요. 요즘 환율이 올라서 가격이 또 변경되었을 수도 있지만, 2+1행사도 종종 진행하고 있어 미국 LA, 뉴욕, 시카고, 애틀란타 지역에 짐을 보낼 일이 있을 경우 괜찮은 옵션인 것 같아요 :)
It took about two months to arrive, but fortunately, the items were delivered without any damage. Due to the fluctuating exchange rates, the prices may have changed recently, but there are often promotions like 2+1 deals, making it a good option when sending parcels to areas like LA, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta in the United States.
