교토 디저트 가게 [Gion Narumiya/祇園鳴海屋]

 

교토에서 보낸 네 번째 날. 날씨가 좋을 줄 알았는데, 생각보다 춥더라고요. 핫팩을 챙겨갔지만 아침을 안 먹고 출발했더니 더 춥게 느껴졌어요.

On the day in Kyoto, I anticipated warm weather, but it turned out to be colder than expected. Despite bringing hand warmers, they didn't seem to help much, possibly because I had skipped breakfast before heading out.

전경

교토에 도착한 시간은 아침 10시가 조금 넘었을 때라, 아직 영업을 시작하지 않은 상점들이 대부분이었어요. 문 연 곳을 찾다가 아담한 디저트 가게가 보여서 들어갔습니다 :)

When I arrived in Kyoto, it was a little past 10 in the morning, so most of the shops hadn't opened yet. While searching for an open place, I stumbled upon a dessert cafe and decided to step inside.

내부에서 취식가능한 좌석이 몇 있어서, 몸도 녹일 겸 앉아서 당고를 맛보기로 했어요.

Inside, there were a few available seats for dining in, so I decided to sit down and warm myself up with a cup of tea and a snack.

아기자기하게 다양한 화과자

쇼케이스에는 매장에서 직접 만든 예쁜 화과자들이 다양하게 디피되어 있었어요.

There were various handmade Japanese pastries displayed in the showcase.

당고와 팥밥

다행히 여기는 카드 결제가 가능하더라고요. 직원분들도 정말 친절하셨어요.

Fortunately, they accepted card payments here, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

따뜻한 호지차

저는 당고와 따뜻한 호지차를 한 잔 주문했어요. 차는 직원이 우려서 주셨어요.

I ordered one piece of dango and a cup of warm hojicha tea. The tea was brewed and served by the staff.

귀여운 당고

떡 3개가 나란히 꽂힌 모습이 참 귀엽죠. 쫀득한 떡 위에 조청맛이 나는 달달한 소스가 뿌려져 있어, 맛있게 먹었어요. 오사카 편의점에서도 볼 수 있는 당고지만, 처음 가본 교토에서 처음 먹어보게 되어 나름 뜻깊은 날었습니다 :)

The sight of three pieces of mochi (rice cake) lined up together was truly adorable. The chewy rice cake topped with sweet sauce made it delicious. While dango is also available in Osaka convenience stores, trying it for the first time in Kyoto made it a memorable experience.
