헤더윅 스튜디오 전시회를 보러 간 날, 입장까지 시간이 조금 남아서 가까운 연남 방앗간에 들러 음료를 마셨어요.
On the day I went to see the Heatherwick Studio exhibition, I had some time left until the entrance. So I stopped by a cafe called [Yeonnam Bangagan] nearby and had a drink.
연남 방앗간은 문화역 서울 284 바로 오른쪽에 위치해 있습니다 :)
[Yeonnam Bangagan] is located right next to Culture Station Seoul 284.

입구에 들어서자마자, 왼쪽에 선물 세트 판매 매대가 눈에 띄더라고요.
As soon as I entered the entrance, I noticed a display of gift sets on the left.
방앗간이라는 이름에 걸맞게 참기름, 전통과자, 김부각, 꽃차, 벌꿀 세트 등 다양한 식품 선물세트를 판매하고 있었어요. 명절 때나 가족들에게 선물하기 좋아보였습니다.
[Yeonnam Bangagan] offers a diverse range of food gift sets, such as sesame oil, traditional snacks, roasted seaweed, flower tea, and honey sets. They seem excellent choices for holiday gifts or family gatherings.
매장 한 쪽에는 술을 빚는 양조사들의 이야기가 담긴 전시회도 진행중이에요.
They're also hosting an exhibition about the stories of distilleries where alcohol is brewed.
가장 인상깊은 양조장은 [참새와 꽃게]라는 곳이었는데요. 술 레시피를 개발하고 테스트하는 과정 중에 자연스럽게 드는 감정을 담은 단어로 술 이름을 담았다고 하는데... 그 이름이 "혼돈"이네요. 😂😂😂
The most impressive distillery was a place called "Chamsae and Kkotgae" which means "Sparrow and Crab" in english. They mentioned that, during the process of developing and testing their alcohol recipes, they chose a name for their drink that naturally encapsulated the emotions that arose. Interestingly, the name they chose is "혼돈" (hondon), which means "chaos" in English.
매장을 살짝 둘러본 후 음료를 고르러 갔습니다. 이른 아침이라 그런지 베이커리 메뉴는 없었고, 쿠키류만 있더라고요. 일단 가장 좋아하는 초코칩 쿠키 하나 고르고-
After exploring the store, I went to choose a drink. There were no bakery items available, perhaps due to the early hour; only cookies were available. I decided to pick my favorite chocolate chip cookie first -
방앗간 커피와 시그니처 메뉴 중 고민하다가, 참깨 라떼를 주문해보았어요.
While contemplating between Bangagan Coffee and their signature menu options, I decided to try their Sesame Latte.
뒤쪽에 보이는 벼 소품과 왠지 잘 어울리는 음료의 모습ㅎㅎ
The drink's appearance seemed to complement the rice-themed decor in the background quite nicely :)
참깨 라떼는 커피가 아닌 미숫가루 음료에요. 참깨가 오독오독 씹혀서 매우 고소합니다ㅎㅎ 마시다보니 아래쪽에 미숫가루가 많이 가라앉아서 저어가며 먹어야하더라고요.
The Sesame Latte is made with ground grains instead of coffee, giving it a delightful nutty flavor with a satisfying texture of sesame seeds. To enjoy both the liquid and the settled grain powder at the bottom, you have to stir thoroughly while you drink.
초코칩 쿠키는 아메리칸 스타일 쿠키처럼 큼직한 초코칩이 들어가 있는 꾸덕한 쿠키에요. 음료랑 간단히 요기하기 좋았습니다.
The chocolate chip cookie was a thick, American-style cookie with large chocolate chips. It paired well with the beverage for a simple and enjoyable treat.
곧 추석이 다가오는데, 연남 방앗간에서 선물을 준비할까 고민해보고 있어요. 다음에는 방앗간 커피도 마셔봐야겠어요 :)
As Chuseok is approaching, I'm considering preparing gifts from Yeonnam Bangagan. Next time, I should also try the Bangagan Coffee as well.
