오랜만에 마이클 바이 해비치 종로점에 다녀왔어요. 지금 살고 있는 집 처음 보러 왔을 때 갔던 기억이 있는데... 벌써 3년이나 지났군요.
마이클 바이 해비치는, 해비치 호텔 & 리조트에서 운영하는 뉴 아메리칸 다이닝 레스토랑이라고 소개되어 있는데요, 메뉴를 보면 이탈리안과 아메리칸이 약간 섞인 레스토랑이에요.
Last week I visited the restaurant, Michael's by HAEVICHI in Jongno. I remember going there when I first came to see the house I currently live in... It's already been three years. Michael's by HAEVICHI is introduced as a New American Dining restaurant operated by the HAEVICHI Hotel & Resort. But if you look at the menu, it's a restaurant that combines a bit of Italian and American cuisine.
종각역 센트로폴리스 빌딩 2층에 위치해있고, 평일 점심은 미리 예약하지 않으면 식사가 어렵더라고요. 2층이다 보니, 창밖의 나무와 오피스 빌딩 뷰가 꽤 멋졌는데 깜빡하고 사진에 못 담았네요...

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the Centropolis Building near Jonggak Station. I heard that it's difficult to have lunch on weekdays without making a reservation in advance. Because it's on the 2nd floor, the view outside the window with trees and office buildings was quite nice, but I forgot to capture it in a photo...
테이블에 포크와 나이프, 스푼이 셋팅되어 있고, 냅킨 위에 메뉴판이 올려져 있었어요.
Utensils such as a fork, knife, and spoon were set on the table, and the menu was placed on top of the napkin.
아이와 함께 방문해서 어린이 식기와 물도 준비해 주셨어요.
The staff kindly provided children's utensils and water for my child.
물티슈와 티슈도 테이블 한쪽에 준비되어 있었습니다.
Wet wipes and tissues were also provided on the side of the table.
보통 오피스 빌딩에 입점한 레스토랑은 화장실이 식당 밖에 있는데, 화장실이 식당 내부에 있어서 편리했어요. 화장실에 핸드 워시와 핸드크림까지 비치되어 있습니다. 이 날 핸드크림을 안 챙겨가서 손가락이 바싹 말라가고 있었는데 다행이었어요....
Usually, restaurants located in office buildings have restrooms outside the restaurant area, but this one had a restroom inside the restaurant, which was very convenient. The restroom even had hand wash and hand cream provided. On that day, I had forgotten to bring hand cream, and my hands were getting really dry, so I was fortunate to find one there.
도톰한 빵 사이에 부드러운 화이트 체다 치즈와 햄이 듬뿍 들어있는, 몬테 크리스토 샌드위치가 제일 먼저 나왔어요. 겉면은 빵가루까지 입혀서 바삭하게 튀겨져 있더라고요. 그대로 즐겨도 되지만, 블루베리 잼과 함께 먹으면 느끼한 맛을 잡아줘서 맛있어요.
A Monte Cristo Sandwich, filled with soft white cheddar cheese and plenty of ham, came out first. The outer layer was coated with breadcrumbs, giving it a crispy texture. You can enjoy it as it is, but when you eat it with blueberry jam, it balances the rich flavor and makes it delicious.
제가 먹고 싶어서 주문한 우니 스파게티 :) 생면이라, 식감이 부드럽고 맛있었어요.
The Uni(sea urchin roe) Spaghetti was served next. Since it's made with fresh pasta, the texture was smooth and it tasted delicious.
마이클 시그니처 브런치는 아이용으로 주문했어요. 요리를 직접 하다 보면, 브런치 메뉴의 가성비가 떨어지는 느낌이 들긴 합니다...ㅎㅎㅎ 아이는 의외로 생면 파스타를 제일 잘 먹었어요.
I ordered Michael's Signature Brunch for my child, but surprisingly, my child enjoyed the fresh pasta the most.
후식으로는 바나나 업사이드다운 케이크를 주문했어요. 많이 달지 않고, 푸딩과 함께 먹으니 부드럽고 맛있었어요. 나오면서 보니 홀케이크도 판매하고 있어서, 필요할 때 한 번씩 주문해서 먹어도 괜찮겠다는 생각이 들었어요.
For dessert, I ordered the Banana Upside-Down Cake. It has just the right amount of sweetness, and when eaten with pudding, it was smooth and delicious.
I noticed they also sell whole cakes, so I thought it would be nice to order one when needed.
깔끔하고 편안했던 다이닝 공간에서 가족과 함께 즐겁게 식사했어요. 아들이 역시나 빨리 집에 가자고 성화였지만...... 조금 크면 좋은 곳에서 식사도 즐겁게 잘할 수 있기를 :)
I had a pleasant meal with my family, as the dining space was so comfortable and nice. My son was eager to go home as usual, but... I hope that when he grows a bit older, he'll be able to enjoy dining in nice places as well.
