얼마 전, 연희동에 갔다가 [청춘면가]라는 칼국수 전문점에서 점심 식사를 했어요.
A few days ago, I visited Yeonhee-dong and had lunch. I went to a noodle restaurant called "청춘면가" (Cheongchunmyeonga).

위치는 연남동에서 연희동 방면으로 들어가는 연희맛로 입구에 있어요. 예로부터 맛집이 많은 곳이라 연희맛로로 도로명 주소를 지은 거 같죠...?ㅎㅎ
The location is at the entrance of Yeonhee-mat-street. Since this street has been known for many delicious restaurants for a long time, they probably named the road address "Yeonhee-mat-ro," which translates to "Tasty Street" in Korean.
영업시간은 오전 11시부터 오후 9시까지입니다. 중간에 오후 3시부터 오후 5시까지 브레이크 타임도 있어요.
The operating hours are from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. There is also a break time between 3 P.M. and 5 P.M.
식당 내부는 깔끔합니다. 아기의자도 준비되어있어, 유아 동반해서 식사할 수 있어요.
The restaurant interior is clean and tidy. They have high chairs available, so you can dine with your toddler comfortably.
국수 메뉴가 메인이지만, 공기밥과 함께 먹을 수 있는 닭볶음탕이나 닭곰탕 같은 메뉴도 있어요. 전참시에 소개가 된 적이 있었는지 방송화면을 캡춰하여 벽에 걸어놨더라고요. 저희는 첫 방문이라, 대표 메뉴인 "맛있닭", 계절 메뉴인 "콩국수", 그리고 "맛있때지"를 1개씩 주문했어요.
The main menu is noodle dishes, but they also offer dishes like spicy chicken stew that can be enjoyed with rice. It appears that the restaurant has been featured on a TV program before, as they have captured the broadcast screen and hung it on the wall. As it was my first visit, I ordered one serving each of their signature dish "맛있닭" (Mild Chicken Soup with Noodles), the seasonal menu "콩국수" (Cold Bean Soup Noodles), and "맛있때지" (Fried Pork with Jeju Citrus Sauce).
테이블 위에도 간편 메뉴판 1개랑, 종이컵, 여분의 접시, 닭뼈를 담을 수 있는 통도 준비되어있어요.
On the table, there is also a simple menu, paper cups, extra plates, and a container to dispose chicken bones available for your convenience.
수저와 티슈는 테이블 옆 서랍에 위치해있어요.
Spoons, chopsticks and tissues are in a drawer, on the side of the table.
아들이 면 요리를 안 좋아하는 편이라, 아들 위주로 먹이려고 주문한 "맛있때지". 탕수육처럼 바삭하고, 한라봉 소스도 새콤달콤해요.
Since my son doesn't prefer noodle dishes, I ordered the "맛있때지" for him. The dish resembled Chinese sweet and sour pork dish, with a delightful crispy texture, complemented by the tangy sweetness of the Jeju citrus sauce. He thoroughly enjoyed it!
국수와 곁들여먹을 김치도 가져다주셨어요.
As we were waiting for our food, the staff served kimchi as a side dish to accompany the noodle dishes.
설탕과 소금도 주셨는데, 기호에 따라 콩국수에 넣어먹으면 된다고 하셨어요.
The staff also provided sugar and salt. They suggested to add them to the cold bean-soup noodles according to my preference.
기다리다보니 서빙된 콩국수. 생각보다 국수 접시가 엄청 컸어요.
As I waited, the cold bean-soup noodles were served. The noodle bowl was much larger than I had expected.
면은 흑임자면이라 일반 칼국수면보다 더 쫄깃한 식감이에요. 날씨가 워낙 더워서 오랜만에 한그릇 뚝딱했어요 :)
These black sesame noodles have a chewier texture compared to regular wheat noodles. Because the weather was so hot, I enjoyed a bowl of it after a long time.
짝꿍이 주문한 맛있닭은, 일반적인 닭칼국수와는 다르게 나카사키 짬뽕에 가까웠어요. 야채를 불맛나게 달달 볶은 후에 육수에 푹 끓인 느낌? 해장할 때 먹기 좋겠다 싶었어요. 닭다리도 통채로 들어있어, 양이 푸짐하더라고요.
The "맛있닭" (Mild Chicken Soup with Noodles), was different from the usual chicken noodles. It seemed more akin to Nagasaki Jjamppong. The vegetables were stir-fried to a sweet and smoky flavor before being boiled in the broth. I thought it would be perfect for a hangover meal. The dish also included half a chicken, making the portion generous and satisfying.
계산대 옆에 커피 머신이 있어, 식사 후 달달하게 입가심하기도 좋습니다.
There is a coffee machine next to the cash register.
청춘면가는 색다른 칼국수가 먹고 싶거나, 뜨끈하게 해장하고 싶을 때 한 번씩 방문하기에 괜찮은 곳이에요 :) 저도 국수 생각이 날 때 한 번 다시 찾아가봐야겠습니다.
Cheongchunmyeonga is a great place to visit if you want to try unique noodle dishes or enjoy a satisfying and comforting meal. Maybe I'll visit again when I crave noodles.
